While we're at it, the light in my glove box seems to be out now. Anyone know how to replace that? and what bulb it needs?

Okay, I get it! Apparently all you Bronco 6G members are from a time where the only thing your heads are looking at are your mobile phones or computer screens where “social media is your only form of communication. Also apparently, you don’t read the original post as to why I was curious. But let me “educate” you again. I only purchase a new vehicle every 12 years or so. Back then the floor shifter was illuminated. So, stop being a bunch of immature haters and think before you put that one dimensional mind of yours in motion.

You need to roll with the punches. The question isn't the first time it was asked and it won't be the last. Different buyers have different expectations. It is a fallacy to conflate today's purchase price with features that might have been standard on a vehicle 15 years ago as expected to be standard today.

I've never seen a manual transmission with a lighted gear selector.

Illuminated automatic gear selectors went away once manufacturers were able to display the information in the instrument cluster.

It's safer to look at the instrument panel for that information. Your eyes don't leave the road for as long. So I don't think NTSHA will ever require illuminated gear selectors.
I can see the dash and gear shifter at the same time, not sure why others can't?

Don't even get me started on the volume knob. There's no arrow on which way to turn it for up/ down! Same with climate control, shame on you Ford!

194. IF not then definitely an 1157. or 1157A for that ambience "antique" feel.

1). You should know what position the shifter is in by feel.
2). Since the auto shifter is dirt simple (no 1s, 2s, 3s) makes more sense to have it up where your eyes can scan it in an instant instead of taking your eyes off the road.

If any complaint it would be that the display doesnt show what gear the transmission is in under normal circumstances. My f150 raptor does and I find it very useful.
Yes, the Raptors show your gear....also, the 3rd party cluster shows the gear.
If you hit your button, the gear shows up, then it will go away. It's on the side of the digital tac line. It's also very small. I do believe, if you shift into Ml, the number stays on.

Or perhaps we are all from a time when an auto shifter was on the column and we are used to looking at the dash for the gear. Perhaps we had 70's HEEPs where if you can't find it you grind it!!!!

Yeah, some people may think it’s safer to have the gear selection displayed within the instrument cluster, but you still have to look down at the rotary GOAT knob while gearing up. Also I’ve never seen a manual with illumination because the shift pattern is carved out on the shifter knob and from there it’s “muscle memory”.
Remembering that PRNDM is in a strait line is beyond the memory storage of most people's muscles?
I never look at my goat mode dial.
It sits right in front of the shifter.
If it doesn't prompt me on the dash to confirm Sport mode, I know that it is 3 click clockwise and then a push of the button at the front of the pod to go back into 2 high.

My Challenger lights up on the top of the handle, where your hand covers it up.
However it is also PRND... Manual is a tug to the left.
But it also displays on the dash.
I should petition the NHTSA for an audible alert for the gear selected... After it announces all of the options available to me. 🤣

You have a light in your glove box? I'm envious.

Don’t knock old school. At least I’m still here. Apparently, you’re not there yet, so show some respect for “geriatrics”. One day you too will be there if your luck doesn’t run out first.
