2.3L Badlands with 7sp transmission. Ford performance tune (Procal)

I just got the Yukon 5.29 gear sets (front and rear) installed and break-in process completed.

everything seems as it should except that I can’t get cruise control to engage when I’m on 6th gear.

I’ve tried setting cruise control at 60, 65 and 70mph with negative results.

At 60 mph / 2000 rpm

I duplicated the speeds and rpms on 5th gear and it works

I tried with 4th and 3rd gear at lower speeds and works just fine.

has anyone encountered this issue? Thanks in advance.

Interesting. So if you have cruise on in 5th and then shift to 6th does it disengage?

It disengages when shifting from 5th to 6th.

Yeah that's strange. To be honest I don't use sixth much so I'm only assuming it acts normal like the rest of the gears. I definitely haven't ever noticed an issue. I can't think of any reason that gear change would have affected it. I would love to eventually do the 5.29 gears or something similar.

It’s noticeably significant difference.
I didn’t use 6th gear a lot before neither but after the regear, it’s cruising.

I don’t know why it

What size tires do you have? How is the first gear with the 5.29 diffs? My first gear felt a bit on the short side when running the stock 4.46 diffs and 30" tires.

I’m running 37” at the moment. Bronco felt like stock Badlands (non-sas) with 33” tires.

it now rolls forward on first gear just by letting off the clutch…just like the stock/original configuration

I would actually love for first gear to be a little too short for daily driving, if it makes sixth gear more usable without being in boost too much. It will mean first and crawler will work better off road.

Did you update the gear ratio in ProCal or Forscan? That may be throwing it off

I think that’s the fix right there. I’ll update the gears with my procal when I get back next week.
Thanks

Oh I was assuming you had already done that since you mentioned the ProCal at the beginning. Hope that's the trick!

Yeah. I just noticed it today once I got to 500 miles.
I didn’t have time to update procal before I left town.
I’ll update everyone next week when I get back.

If/when my M190 finally gives up the ghost, I'm highly considering it.

I always thought with a manual anytime you push in the clutch it would disengage the cruise control. At least that's how it worked on my 2014 Manual Mustang.
