Quick question. On my daughter‘s bronco that we picked up recently, the shifting knob does not light up at all it seems? Even at night with lights on. So it makes it a bit weird when switching out from say Park into drive. Is this something that is supposed to be lit up? Thx..

Nope no lights. I just picked up a 25 Base auto, and had the same initial reaction until I realized about a half second later that it's displayed on the dash.

Not the knob, just the casing it is in. Most cars do.
You mean the transmission position indicator on the console? Nope, as mentioned, most newer Fords are not lit. You can keep your eyes on the meter, where it is lit, to see that, no need to look down.

Ford needs to spring for a frigging light bulb.... People look down to grab the shifter at night and want to see the gear symbols illuminated... bad move.

Wow... I now see why the manual transmission is dying.
Since the automatic is to complex to use without looking at it.

Noticed this too, on my '24, but always look at dash anyway...one less bulb to fail. :D

You just get used to something you've had in every vehicle you've ever driven is all..
