Something like this should have a reference to it in the owners manual. Like Vandy, with every manual transmission with Cruise Control I've ever driven. It would disengage whenever the brake or the clutch was pressed. I was using the Cruise the day after I bought my Bronco took an exit ramp and initially didn't require the brakes and expected the Cruise to disengage like I was used to so you can imagine my surprise when I downshifted and Bronco takes off. It freaked me out a little bit as I was totally unprepared for that. Later I searched through the owners manual and there is no reference in it describing this. I'm an experienced driver but I can imagine someone not ready to react to that might cause an accident because of that. I'm wondering if, it operates by design to help with the Goat modes, like the Hill Descent Control or the Trail Control where maintaing forward momentum would be the main concern. To me there should be a reference to that in the manual. After getting used to it, you're right it is a nice feature. Most do, the Bronco does not. It will let you shift and not disengage. It's pretty nice.
