Haha, that was us with our first one until it got murdered! Now, unfortunately, the second 6G is "just" a vehicle. But it still does make me feel 15 again like when I got my first EB.
I've also found too that after I retired I spend a lot more time analyzing purchases. When I was working it was, "Sure, whatever, just buy it". Now I look at things much more closely and ask how does this make my life better, easier, or how does it bring me joy/ happiness. If the answer isn't...
I'm a late 60's baby and this is one of the reasons I sold my '69, was to the point that taking it to the next level was going to be EXPENSIVE. And one of the reasons that both of our 6G's have been kept virtually stock.
Since we'll never get the answer, I'll share a story. My buddy and I were staying in a cabin at a state park in WV with no cell service. One morning I told him that I was going to check the weather before we headed out. He said, "How are you going to do that"? To which I said, "I'm going to...
I've owned five Broncos since 1984. The number of times a roof was off on any of them in total was exactly one. When I painted the '67 I took the top off as it was a color change. We did have a Sunrider on the '22 and moved it to the '25 though.
That's high on my list but waiting for the new Xterra, seeing where GM will go with this and hoping beyond all hopes that Scout will pull their head out of their "tailpipe" and put a full gasser in the Traveler.
Our Grand Cherokee is getting a bit long in the tooth and Bronco towing of #3500...
This is like arguing over which color is better, which oil to use, or what tire pressure to run. BUT one thing that we all KNOW FOR SURE is that 2-doors are way cooler than MoreDoors, hahaha.
Best of luck to you! We were there as well, was going to be fixed and our estimate was *only* $17K but then it had to go through some higher level reviews due to amount of claim and one of the *higher-ups* got cold feet and pulled the plug. Body shop even had ordered and received the frame...
That's way too nice, they'll never allow it. We just can't have nice things, haha.
Paint it concrete color (coulor?) and paint some fake pipes or "fire suppression equipment" lettering or something official looking on it, they may not even notice if it blends in.
I didn't see anything in the manual to turn off keyless entry. I looked for a fuse as well but didn't see a dedicated fuse for that feature, you may be out of luck.
