Thank you! That thread/page does show many used the OE gasket & FP bolts successfully. Thank you! This thread had so much information my mind was spinning a bit. I must have missed that info in that thread. Will also consider the 25mm bolts as well.. Just wanted to know if I *NEEDED* to order more pieces.

Thanks a friend/forum member did a wonderful job. It's factory matched Velocity Blue :)

Edit: this was helpful. Not much of an expense for the knowledge the bite will be good enough for the threads. Just went ahead and ordered.
You absolutely can’t go wrong with the advice provided on this thread by @CarbonSteel. You’ll be glad you got the longer bolts!

why is it blue....
Because a friend/fellow Bronco owner had some leftover velocity blue and offered to paint match it for me. Also, because why not? 😁

To further support the longer bolt option, when you hang your diff on a rock and it drags across to catch the lip of the cover (permitting you don't have a diff skid) do you want to question how many threads are grabbing? :bandit:

Just did mine today. 25k miles and it was definitely dark. Will be a more regular maintenance item now that the diff cover has a drain plug.

Went ahead and had dealership flush the transmission fluid at 36k miles. Came back with report of "contaminated/burned". At least now with the PPE pan, I can change it myself.
What did they charge you? Thanks - Robert

Did my wife’s OBX back in April at 6700 miles and my Wildtrak tonight at 3100 miles. Here are pictures of the rear drain plugs (they both have the locking rear diff although the OBX is non Sasquatch).

This was the OBX 6700 miles. Refilled with Valvoline 75w140 gear oil.

And the Wildtrak at 3100. Refilled with Amsoil 75w140 severe gear.

Looks pretty similar, either the plug magnet is at capacity in both pictures or most of the metal is wearing off in the first 3000 miles. I think I will do the Wildtrak again in 2 oil changes, around 10k. Transfer case looked pretty clean at 3k on the Wildtrak. Some metal on the front diff plug but about 30% what was on the rear diff I think.

Wildtrak front diff plug at 3000:

How did you say you stamped/Drilled the 1/4 rubber clamp out to a bigger size to fit over the brake line stud? I"ll have all the parts in, in about 2 weeks and just ordered the clamps. I think the last thing is to get those holes bigger and also pls if I may, you guys mentioned nothing but scotts towels on the inside but how did you clean the the old OEM gasket and dif surfface? Just wipe off with scotts too? I was thinking it might be kinda gummed up with debris for just scotts towel. Thx

IIRC (or what I would do) is drill (or drill press) with an appropriate size bit through the hole in to wood to widen it.

Scott towels (or anything that doesn't leave lint behind) can clean inside and the OEM gasket and cover surface; just wipe.

I removed the rubber liner from the clamp, lightly clamped in a vise and used a drill press and a few different size bits to enlarge the hole.

Scott's towels will work to wipe the old gasket and surfaces. There is no gummy residue on them.

So finally planning this for tomorrow and lost confidence on rear diff torque specs and pattern. Reusing the stock rear diff cover (22 Badlands). Cannot find a pattern other than the PPE cover pattern which looks a bit uneven. 177 in-lbs or 14.75 ft lbs plus 25 degrees, or 25-30 ft lbs from the Dana spec sheet? Also read not to reuse the bolts as the factory spec is torque to yield, which is odd to me for something like a diff cover that is supposed to be serviceable.

Any insights on the torque value, pattern and reuse of bolts for stock rear diff cover is greatly appreciated! Probably over thinking it. First time on this. Thank you @CarbonSteel and others for all the great info in this thread!
