I was thinking of trading in my FE in on a Raptor or maybe a scout in a year or two, but now this happens - Gladiator V8. If there was a V8 Bronco, especially the Raptor (I know, I know, not enough space in the engine bay apparently), I'd be sticking with a Bronco for sure.

Ah, I see Jeep didn't want to be left out of the performance mid-sized truck segment.

Would rather have them bring the diesel engine back... but... pretty sure smaller diesel pickups are just cursed in North America.

It was sad to see the diesel go.

The one thing about this is it's going to be auto option only. If this was a mt...take, my, money.

I had to keep my 12' raptor around after getting a bronco but a v8 gladiator is tempting..... as long as its not full time AWD like the 392.

Make it a 2-door with some room behind the seats along with a 6 - 6.5' bed and I'll dump my JL and my F150 for it without blinking an eye.

I’ve seen too many busted 392s to ever consider one in any platform.
This. The 5.7 has "better" reliability and I'm disappointed that's not offered.
I want 5.0 in non-Raptor Bronco...

I'm glad to see other manufacturers holding on to V8s as well....Bronco V8 swaps will become more common soon enough. I just saw an ad for a Godzilla with the transmission today for $6999.oo.!!!
there IS plenty of room for either the 5.0/5.2 or the 7.3 V8s. I'm starting my own swap at the end of August.

Ford will most likely offer a very limited run of special order V8 Broncos. HOWEVER, minimal dealer allocations and limited supply will drive the price/cost even higher than the Braptor or F150 Raptor R. Oh wait they called it the DR.🤪

The 392 is not exactly a good engine from the "not blowing up" point of view. While in theory, I like a pushrod engine, the 392 has well known lifter issues.

Now that the CAFE penalty is dead for next year. There is absolutely Zero Reason Ford cannot give me a 2-door manual with the 5.0 Coyote. We know it fits, we know it mates to the transmission, and Ford will no longer have to pay a federal CAFE penalty if they build me one.

They can build me one also as long as it doesn’t exceed $60K.
