Buy one and put it in the cupholder. It’s the only way you’re getting a V8 in the Bronco.

Meh, it’ll still ride like a Jeep, no thanks. I’d love for Ford to put one in the Bronco, but you know if they did, it’d be A/T only and be only in the Raptor. No thanks to that, too.
Totally agree, when I test drove one B4 buying my '24, it was a "brick w/ wheels"...literally. >.<

If Ford offered the Bronco with the 3.0L diesel in the Super Duty Ranger, which has been proven for years in the Range Rover product and made a brief appearance in the F-150, I'd be placing my next order tomorrow for one.

That said, I'd like a gasoline V8 that harkens back to the original 302 formula. Not particularly powerful. No more than 350hp. And mellow in tone.......not obnoxious like so many today. It's about having a V8 alike the original formula. It's not a race truck option, but rather all about that unmistakable subdued V8 sound.

Like how the guy runs behind the king in Holy Grail, somebody oughta sit in back and make vroom vroom noises as loud as they can, who would miss the V8 then?? lol

It does kinda feel like Ford's crabbing backwards limiting the 2.7, so it would be interesting if they made a naturally aspirated V8 but my guess is they'd special order it and each dealer would get one order, so good luck on that. But it would be cool!

I was out the other day running an errand in my two door Bronco with the top off as per summer regulations. As I awaited to turn on to the main road a first generation Bronco ,white with orange hood stripes, also topless came rolling by. The passengers in the first gen were as interested in my Bronco as I was in theirs. What gut punched me was hearing the first gen V8 roaring by. Sigh.

I am so far away from buying another Jeep there isn’t a power train that would make a difference to me.

I’d love the Coyote. Yes yes, some of you people love the ECOBoost, and that’s totally fine. But anyone who is a true car guy and does their own work knows simple is better. I get the 2.7 has the turbo kick in 3-5 business days, but many just like the predictable torque curve of a V8. Also there is a lot less to go wrong, especially for those who try and keep vehicles long term. Because of all that, I’d love to see the 5.0 as a simple option on all models and not some special overpriced edition. Same as the F150. Then everyone can get what makes them happy.

I was at the gas station a couple of days ago and parked in front of an old school 2 door, blue like mine but faded. We were both kind of eyeing each other's broncos but not saying anything. When he went to leave and started it up, the ground shook. And right then, I understood what people keep talking about with the V8.
The two door’s look screams V8. I have no idea how the designers at Ford could sketch it out without a V8 in mind.

And you would probably have left them in the dust. The 302 in my ‘74 only had 122hp. My ‘23 2.7 (no tune)Bronco is way faster than my ‘74 was.

For off-road performance, all I really want is plenty of low-end torque. From that standpoint I'd be happy with a naturally aspirated large v6/straight 6 or small v8 that's designed to prioritize low-end torque.

However, given the kind of landscapes I'll be getting back into now that I have a 4x4 again, range is even more important. Off-road and even decent dirt roads eat gas compared to the highway. So far my 2.3 does fine performance-wise, though I haven't really tested it on anything worse than a little bit of Class 3 trail. We'll have to see how it stacks up off-road over time.

Range-wise, I got spoiled by pickup trucks that had plenty of room for a decent-sized tank. A 450-mile range on the highway was fantastic, but I won't be seeing that in my Bronco with any powerplant. The Eco-Boost engines will give better range than a NA engine that's a lot larger and that matters to me.

It all depends on the use case and on what your priorities are.

I didn’t purchase a Bronco to leave anyone in the dust.

$100k for a jeep is stupid $ x 2 imo

At $60,000 they’d sell like hotcakes
At $100,000 only suckers buying
Exactly, I cannot see spending $40K+ premium on a Gladiator 392 versus a Ranger Raptor.

Hell, I couldn't see spending the money on a 392 versus the Bronco (and they are way closer to cost parity).
