When I was first considering the Bronco, I was concerned based on the Consumer Reports findings. However, I find it brakes pretty well, certainly far better than some older vehicles I've owned.
I had these installed: Diode Dynamics Stage Series C1R White Flood LED Pod (pair), mounted on the AGS OFF-ROAD 2021+ Ford Bronco In-Wheel Light Mount. They work well and I'm happy with them.
With anything like this you need compatible wheels that have enough space for the pods to be mounted...
I had the same experience with my Toyota T-100 decades ago. I found the handling squirrelly on the highway and I blamed the suspension. It turned out the problem was overinflated tires. Once that was fixed it handled fine for a pickup truck.
Edmunds had a negative review on this truck based on...
A lot depends on how much of your extra height is legs vs. torso. I'm only 5'11", but I still run into a lot of problems with some vehicles, with the seats not fitting my body thanks to my unusually long torso. I'm almost always the tallest person in the room when we're all sitting down.
IIRC, the term was invented in the 1980s by a writer for one of the 4WD magazines then in circulation. He was casting about for a term to describe the new downsized 4x4s from GM, Ford, and Jeep (S-10 Blazer, Bronco II, and Jeep Cherokee/Wagoneer). The term took off and became widely used.
The Bill of Rights only limits what the government can do to you. By buying a private product you are consenting to whatever comes along with that. The 4th Amendment doesn't apply.
I've been working to keep my Bronco's weight down. I'll probably have over four hundred 360 extra pounds of sprung weight when I'm done, plus 85 pounds of new unsprung weight. Think I'll go for the HD springs after all.
My insurance calls it a Sport Wagon. So the text reads Bronco Sport, but with the wagon part truncated. Thought at first they had the wrong vehicle insured.
Did they actually crash-test a Sasquatch? I can't find any evidence they did for any model year.
Ford may have figured that they would only test a lower trim, so they could leave the crash bars out for Sasquatch models.
My Bronco has the stock Badlands KO2 285/70R17. I've been planning on going to 35s and I was going to get pizza cutters. I like their old-school look, and they're better and safer in winter conditions when I go to the mountains.
However, when I wanted to upgrade my suspension's off-road...
For people like me with a long torso so my head sits high, most modern vehicles cut off your line of sight not far above level from the eyes. Even the Bronco does this, but at least I have more headroom than in some other vehicles I've tried.
I hear that the trails along the east shoreline can have deep sand. Probably best to go in pairs to that part of the lake.
A fun trail in the area is the one to the Log Cabin Mine NW of Lee Vining. The property is an inholding owned by the Boy Scouts. There are two parallel routes to get there...
That really shocked me. The Maze was a really obscure place back in the 1970s, except to a small number of backpackers and probably local wheelers. Now you need reservations?!?
Never been there, but drove out to Panorama Point 35 years ago. Saw nobody except a ranger.
I'm 5'11", 230 lbs., and no problem with my four-door.
I do have to agree that the longer door is nicer for visibility. That's something I loved about my old two-door truck.
All these calculations of flood return intervals are based on past climate and hydrology. With a warmer climate in recent decades, the atmosphere now had significantly more water-holding ability. In recent years, a number of places around the world have gotten unprecedented floods from localized...
