Same. Installed this way over a year ago with no issues at all. I had originally gotten the one you put behind the button, but sold it to someone and got this one instead (the one that plugs in above the dead pedal).
I love the seatback protectors. I use my Bronco to haul stuff around all the time, and those are great.
Just got a hard top lift/storage and the Trektop. I have much putting together/installing to do soon.
Black. I bought my Bronco used and it had white ones on it. I'm just leaving them, but I don't like the way shackles look when they stand out (matching other colors on the bronco or not).
jmo. You do you.
Yep, I've gotten close to pulling the trigger on getting a gladiator a few times. I'm not quite at the retirement exploring phase yet, so I haven't done it. If I was going into that phase now, I'd personally go with a gladiator myself. Good offroad, not too large, top comes off, can flat tow...
I'd go with the gladiator. Grab a cap if you can and you'll have a ton of extra hauling space for things if needed.
I'm not sure about the availability, but I always liked how the cap A.R.E. makes looks on the gladiator. It almost gives it the overall silhouette of the late 90s/early 00s 4runners.
Love it. I'll be looking for your Bronco when I'm there!.
Thanks everyone for the info in the thread. I found a kit or two I like. I'll likely get one of those and then supplement with the other things in this thread that people mentioned.
That is interesting. I've been kicking around the idea of a winch since there are a few off road areas near me and I wanted to start checking them out.
That's pretty much what's on the list.
Any all in one kit works (my main question)? If not, I'll just get the things separately.
I'm guessing either below link or just some plywood would work ok for a jack support...
I'm heading to Outer Banks/Hatteras this summer and making the drive in my Bronco. I'm going to find some time to drive on the beach toward Hatteras.
I need to get some recovery gear, both for safety and because they require it (as they do elsewhere I could see myself going, like Assateague)...
XM seems to have gotten better. A few years ago I remember certain channels/songs that sounded very tinny. Like it was being broadcast through a sewer pipe. That seems to have improved.
I like it and pay for it. I listen to it when I drive, most days at work, and all evening Friday and...
I second this. I want a soft top and was thinking of looking into trading my FE in on a heritage with dual tops. However, I decided to just get the trek top and wait for the refresh.
Do you know if this would work with a bronco that didn't come from the factory with a soft top. So my Bronco doesn't have any of the hardware installed (like the front and rear brackets, side window panels for the pillars, etc). Are those parts included?
I wish this wasn't such a hassle to do.
I'm considering ordering a newer Bronco later this year so I can get the dual-top option from the get-go. It shouldn't be this difficult to get an OEM soft top after the fact.
I'm considering this. I really want an OEM soft top, but I have none of the hardware to install just the fabric. I don't like trektops.
I can't believe there is no OEM style soft top option yet.
If you squint when looking at it you can see it better.
It's off, but not too much. I'd bring it up and see what they say. If they give a lot of push back, I might just let it go.
If you take a 2005 4 runner and ask me if today what I would expect it to evolve into in 2025, I'd say that, or at least I would pick that pic on multiple choice.
And yah, as someone mentioned, no removable top, pass.
I did own a 98 4runner for awhile. Solid and I loved it.
For me, when I first got my bronco it had been sitting around for awhile and I assume there was a bit of a battery drain. Also, as most of you probably experience, there are a good number of electrical gremlins in these (my left headlight stays on longer than the right one on shutdown...
