I don't understand the presumed significance of where the ad pack is administered.
Not sure what you’re asking…

Phillips 66 developed the California’ summer winter blend gasoline and holds the rights. Many states have gone to that formula.

As the Oil Guy says in his video gasoline is gasoline … someone commented (picture) that gasoline supplier’s get the same gasoline and some Gas Station Brands pay for Additional Additives. Those additives are added in the truck tanks just before they deliver the fuel to the gas station.

Q1svt just wants to be b6g's resident oil geek. Read enough of his posts, you'll get the drift.

Nope no interest. Those that want that title seem to take offense to a single post direct to an OP. And stepped on their little d

Gotcha. In any event, he missed my point: Is adding the add pack in the truck tank vs. a depot vs. manufacturing significant in any way? If the driver puts on a white lab coat before pouring in the additive, is the fuel better?

The old scare of "ethanol and ethanol blends dissolve all of the rubber/plastic in my fuel system" is entirely untrue for just about all vehicles made in the last 25 years.
This is the truth of it. On older vehicles, yeah, the rubber lines weren't spec'd to handle ethanol, and they would essentially dissolve - though E10 didn't do it very quickly, it would take a considerable amount of time for it to happen because it is UP TO 10% ethanol, not 10%+. Higher concentrations WOULD take out fuel systems that weren't spec'd to handle ethanol.

Today's fuel systems are, thanks to economies of scale, equipped to handle ethanol blends much better. You could arguably run E85 in most vehicles today, even if it doesn't say it can handle it, because the materials in the fuel system are basically the same as what is in a vehicle that states it can handle E85. Your owner's manual may say not to, as a CYA for the manufacturer.

Good to know. I'm still stuck in the 1970s.

I typically just use Costco 91 since it's on the top tier list and I get the rewards. It's non-ethanol but still satisfies the 91 for my tune. I don't hesitate to fill with ethanol blend 91 when I'm on a trip.

Sorry if this has been posted before…

As a forced retired Harley rider, the company recommended premium fuel and suggested we use Shell exclusively. All my Harleys ran a heck of a lot better with it. Getting ready to install the Ford Procomm and the recommend is premium. I have no problem with it. If you can't afford to maintain or run it then why buy it (like a Mercedes Benz).

I run the Shell v-power/93 E87 - but I like to get the non-ethanol 100% gasoline when I can find it (usually out of state). No surprise, usually get higher gas mileage with fuel that is 100% gas instead of 87% gas.

I think it is actually the opposite, more engine wear with Premium fuel. Mostly because we drive it harder tho.

'25 Bronco w/turbo 2.7L loves 10%+ ethanol

'61 Corvette with small block 283 V8, not so much. Run 91 ethanol free there.

How do we feel about Mobil's 93 octane premium fuel? That's what I always fuel up with since there's one with great pricing on the way home from work for me ($3.49/gal, southeast MA). Plus I do their rewards program and get free gas every now and then.

So, can I run E85 with the Ford performance tune? Or odes it have to be a blend. Sorry to be ignorant.

No, you can only run straight E85 with a custom tune.
You can blend some pump E85 with 93 though. Typical rule of thumb is to not go more than 30% ethanol. So it would be like E30 for example.
The stock calibration (including the FP tune) will only handle so much fuel adjustment.
