I was taught to never coast. You have less control. I just don’t see a reason for it. I am always rev match downshifting when slowing down, never going in to neutral.
That’s not what I said. You compared a 10AT to a 7MT with the same engine powering them. Your unknown BMW with a completely...
Jeez.
You’re not using fuel while engine braking. You’re using fuel if you pop it in to neutral and idle the engine while coasting down a hill.
I get worse MPG at 70mph on flat ground in 6th than I do in 5th. Always have with 7mt badlands gearing. Going to larger tires exacerbated this. 6th is...
You coast down hills? As in, put it in neutral? If so, that’s worse for MPG and your brakes.
If you’re shifting out of 2nd and 3rd around 2k, you’re lugging the shit out of it in the next gear. Higher RPM is safer and more efficient than lower RPM and more load/boost.
Sounds like they just tried to zip it off with an impact and when it got stuck towards the end they uggadugga’d it off anyway, rather than cleaning up the threads. Not ford’s fault.
Obviously doesn’t cover all of them but an interesting watch.
I run a lithium-ion in another car and it works well but is not daily driven. I wouldn’t use one in a daily driver.
