I finally got it done. front, rear, and Transfer case. Thank you guys and especially CarbonSteel for all the info. I couldn't get a torque wrench in there to tighten the upper and lower fill, so I tightened it with a normal wrench.

Looking good! Not to worry on the plugs--nice and snug is good enough. I rarely, if ever, torque them and never had one loosen or leak.

Yeah, pipe threads with wrap won't leak if they are snug..........

Nonononono, all you ever admit to is that you used German torque specs. (aka, gutentight)

Anyone else's front diff fluid look like this? M210, 17k miles. Haven't gone through any deep water.

Definitely looks like water introduction. How do you define "deep water?"

That does appear to have water in it, but you will not know for sure without running a used oil analysis on the oil. I had a 2010 F-150 that had "yellow" colored fluid in the front axle from the factory, but it did not look milky like yours does.

It's good that you changed it.

Color and texture appear to contain water. If so not good. As Carbon Steel stated.

That yellow fluid could have been gear marking compound. It gets used occasionally at the plant.

Thanks everyone. The front diff fluid was so easy to change, I’ll do it again sooner than everything else and see if it still has that color (and if it does, I’ll send it for analysis).

The breather of the front diff is near the firewall and driver fender, right? Is there only 1 breather there in a manual transmission vehicle? I saw a screenshot in another thread where someone had two next to each other.

I’ve never had it in water up to the axle, let alone up to the breather.
