  1. Ford Dealership Botched My Oil Change – Replacing the Engine Block to Make It Right

we live in a world where people are driving around in new cars with 55psi in the tires, because the dealer can't be bothered with a proper PDI. Not unbelievable at all. Astounding, absolutely. But of course, Slick Willy the dealership manager doesn't know what a car is, or how it works, so...
  2. Safety Recall Notice 25S75 / NHTSA Recall 25V455 -- loss of fuel of fuel pressure and flow from the fuel tank due to fuel pump failure

Several years ago I had an Acura that was caught up in the Takata airbag fiasco. Acura said, parts not yet available. Yes, they realized this thing was a potential claymore mine in the driver's face. Given that, Acura (Honda too) offered for me to park my car, at my house, and not drive...

something to keep in mind when you ponder going out of state to buy that "perfect" Bronco. Some states, the lemon law doesn't apply if you bought it out of state.
  4. My OBX at OBX

yeah, it's kinda fun. Waiting in line for the ferry is not. The fact that they had to reroute the ferry to a longer route isn't fun. The fact that funding cuts have limited the number of ferry runs isn't fun. Were I to win the billion dollar lottery, I can imagine turning that ferry into a...

  8. Oil Change Frequency

Every fillup. You can never be too careful. Actually, just run some lines and a big reservoir and dump tank, and have fresh oil going in with old oil going out while the engine is running. Fill up the fresh oil reservoir, and empty the dump tank, when you get gas. Problem solved.
  9. Oil Change Frequency

why not 2K miles? Or 1K? I would argue, your statement would say 1K is better than 3K.
  10. Bronco Down! Rear Ended While Parked in Driveway, Rear Frame Damaged - She's Totaled

Their obligation is to make you whole. Now try to define what "whole" means. THEY will say, your year BL with equivalent miles and in equivalent FACTORY condition, in your hands. The insurance company aren't Bronco people. They're a business. YOU will have a different definition of "whole"...

  13. Ford Dealership Botched My Oil Change – Replacing the Engine Block to Make It Right

That's been my thought all along. I was confused initially, as the OP never mentioned "above the top dot on the dipstick" in the first post. (And I think the "several quarts over" narrative is exaggeration for effect.) You know, occasionally my wife gets weird messages in her center screen...

  15. Ford Dealership Botched My Oil Change – Replacing the Engine Block to Make It Right

Is there a crosshatch pattern on the other side? Why am I thinking the "dot" to which you refer is the upper limit? If so, that would mean they didn't underfill it...
  16. Ford Dealership Botched My Oil Change – Replacing the Engine Block to Make It Right

  19. My wife went off road today!

She was parked facing the bank, backed out, cranked the wheel to the right to leave--but not enough, apprently--and "never even saw" the big sidewalk there and just went and bounced over it. Yeah, it's a big curb. Never mind that this is OUR BANK. We are not unfamiliar with that parking lot...
