I have a Badlands Bronco on 35s and today sent it to the dealership to have the speedometer corrected using Forscan. A few hours later, I received a "Powertrain Malfunction" message on my FordPass app.

Shortly after, the dealer called me and explained that their technician was unable to adjust the speedometer because it was generating an error message that was disabling my 4x4 system. They had to revert the settings back to how they were before.

I searched through various threads but couldn't find anyone who has experienced a similar issue. My Bronco is still at the dealership, and I'm now worried about the possibility of my 4x4 system failing while I'm out wheeling.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Is there a solution to this?

Your dealer uses Forscan? I've never heard of that and it's pretty surprising given that it's not Ford sanctioned. Are you sure they don't use something a little more mainstream and *supported* like FDRS?

They were able to adjust the speedometer. Both their tech, manager and I spoke too soon lol! They needed to change a few modules in order to make it work. And yeah, they actually use Forscan! This is a great dealership. It’s the best one I’ve ever encountered, even compared to all the other brand dealers I’ve dealt with in the past, including Jeep, Chevrolet, and Chrysler.

But I am still concerned about the powertrain malfunction and 4x4 message. They had no issues afterwards, but still… I’ll test it out tomorrow and hope nothing happens when I am actually of the grid lol

Lots of Ford techs use both. There’s plenty of times I’ve used forscan when FDRS is being a pile of shit. Which is quite often lol

I hooked up Forscan to my '24 and I got a CEL as soon as I tried to read a module. That surprised me - is it normal to have a CEL? My '17 Superduty did not care, and I changed lots of stuff on that truck.
I want to activate Sport Mode but concerned I might brick something...

I did several chime changes a few weeks back. My profile name in Forscan is 'Bronco'. Every few days, I get a popup on the Bronco screen that says 'Bronco Saved' - usually along with a chime. Is there any way to get rid of this, is it a problem? I did see a checksum error writing one of the changes on the 1st try, but it seemed to go in on the 2nd try.

You should just thank Jesus for "saving your Bronco".

You know I had thought about that. That's why I live here - if I go to Hell, at least I'll be used to the weather! Same goes for the Bronco.

Mine has been doing that since a Sync update last fall.

It seems to change between "Vehicle Unblocked" and "Bronco Saved" randomly.

2022 2 door WildTrak here. I've been watching/reading this thread and others about ForScan for some time and finally took the plunge 2 weeks ago. I LOVE it!

Successful changes made:

Double honk
Seatbelt chime
Door ajar chime
Disable auto S/S
Global window open/close
Bambi mode
Added Rock Crawl GOAT mode
Raised steering wheel temp
Enabled speed sensitive turn signal volume
Triple ding at start-up

One "side effect" I noticed from disabling all of the chimes/dings is that my Bronco no longer chimes/dings when I hit the 50/25/10 "miles of fuel remaining". Depending on your view, this could be a plus or a minus. Personally, I like that it's gone.

I used the recommended MK+ bluetooth OBD2 scanner and have had zero problems with it.

Thanks to everyone for all the information on here!

For those that have installed a bully bar or something similar and have to turn off the parking sensors every time you start your vehicle, there is a way around it that I found yesterday.

I went into the PAM (config) settings and found "Front parking aid". I simply clicked on it, changed it to "disabled", and followed the prompts from there. Now my rear sensors will still work while I don't have the constant annoying tone from the front ones when I forget to hit the button on startup!

With Auto s/s does the button light come on or stay off. I haven’t drove yet but my light stays off. Push button and light comes on and disabled message pops up on dash. Just wondering if I did something wrong? Thanks

I did the global window up (on holding the remote lock button down) this morning.
My passenger window would roll up and then roll back down (whether I was rolling up manually or via remote). I had to relearn a few times, but this seems resolved.
