In addition, with the money I save, I can buy some diff covers with drain and fill plugs. Cheers1
I plan to get the plastic trans pan with drain, and then the Asfir trans skid. It'll end up costing about the same as the Mishimoto pan and I feel like the coverage from the skid is better protection than a metal pan.

Or go far to the extreme and get both (that is what I did).

For the price, with the skid plate to protect it, the plastic pan is a winner, just picked up one recently. Seems decent for $50. I ended up getting the Raptor transmission skid.

What gasket did you use?

Any recent feed back on the doorman with drain? I am thinking of going this route. I have a full skid plate system. Servicing the tranny with a drain would be nice.

I bought one back when this thread started. Also bought the Ford LV Fluid and filter. I’ve waited until 30K miles which just happened last week.
The new pan looks great and will be a nice addition to the maintenance schedule. I’m going to change my fluid every 30K. The filter is designed to last at least 200K miles under normal service. You won’t be disappointed with this pan. 👍

Hopefully ULV fluid, and not LV

Yes ULV, Ultra Low Viscosity. These 10 speed transmissions have 8 variable pressure control solenoids which not only shift gears but control line pressure to each clutch pack. If you use a conventional ATF it can slow down the shifting control especially on cold mornings before the fluid heats up.
Lastly if the transmission has problems under warranty, Ford can deny warranty if the wrong oil is present.

It is identical to the OEM pan except it has a drain. The main benefit is that you don't have to drop the pan to do a fluid change, and it makes it less messy to drop the pan when you do.

…… and now the $100,000 question, at least for me, regardless of whether you go aluminum or plastic pan (both with drain plug) has anyone found a dipstick tube and dipstick similar to the ridiculously expense B&M that you can use to check and fill your tranny fluid with after drains??

This seems it would complete our A/T servicing to a normal old style setup that’s EASILY serviceable by us, the owners!!

Appreciate any experience, part numbers, brand names, etc on the tube and dipstick addition.

There is another thread running around some place that shows this dip stick has been used with a modification?

Personally I am just going to drain and refill the same amount, once the new drain plug pan goes in.
