Rugged transmission oil pan options

Hi everyone. My Bronco went over a baby toy stroller made of plastic. Well, it was stronger than my transmission oil pan, which is unprotected and made of plastic.
Any suggestion on a replacement and a skid plate to protect the bottom of my Bronco? Any help is appreciated. Another thing I forgot to ask about is whether the oil level is cold or hot. I found the dipstick on the driver-side side of the transmission but don't know how much oil to pump to start the warm-up process. I lost all the oil when the oil pan cracked.

Fluid level is checked hot and should be between the 3-4 on the dipstick when the fluid is up to 206-215 degrees. I would put in at least 6 quarts, start it, then add more as necessary. Cold, or after just starting it, the fluid level will be down near the bottom of the dipstick. As the fluid gets hot the level will rise.

The ranger crowd discovered that the level rises one hashmark, reliably, between the fluid being cold and hot. This makes checking the level while it's hot not quite necessary.. but its still a good idea.

I put the Mabett trans skid on mine first week home with it. I have the 2.3. Not sure if it fits with the 2.7 frame braces.

Both Mishimoto and PPE make aluminum pans for the 10R60/10R80. I did a comparison here:

I installed the full RCI aluminum skid plate system on mine to double down on protection since the engine oil pan on the 2.7L is also plastic.

The ranger crowd discovered that the level rises one hashmark, reliably, between the fluid being cold and hot. This makes checking the level while it's hot not quite necessary.. but its still a good idea.

To each their own, but I would not trust this at all nor assume it's reliable.
From room temperature (70ish) to 206 it rises a lot more than 1 hashmark. In my experience, which is probably far more then most, it's more like 3-4 numbers on the dipstick.

I have LOD skid (fits 2.7 braces)…if ya have 2.3 there are more choices… have not found a steel pan but the aluminum ones are stronger than plastic I’m guessing…don’t run over strollers…the mall is full of them…

it’s basically the exact same as OEM, just has a drain. I’m sure it’ll be fine with a skid.

I know this is an older post but been reading what I can. So with the PPE deep transmission pan there will be enough room to still put an aftermarket skid plate on for added protection?

Scares the crap outta me crawling under there running/hot...brake set, lots of wheels blocked still...lots of really hot, potentially moving stuff under there.
