PPE & Mishimoto Transmission Pan Comparison

I received two 10R80/10R60 transmissions pans for Christmas gifts and while I had both I wanted to do a small comparison video between the two.

I personally went with the PPE shallow version myself. Which I think that’s what yours is too.

I should get around to installing it in the next few weeks. I’m at about 36k right now.

Both the pans I reviewed are the deep versions (+1.75QTs for the PPE and +2.0QTs for the Mishimoto).

Ah, right. Shallow is only about 3/4 qt more than stock.

PPE was wonderful to work with on my Raptor pan fitment, as I was the first. Mishi wouldn't bother returning calls or emails, despite having a special program for freebies when bed fitments are verified.

Does PPE include a gasket ?

No. Gasket is reusable, though.

I am the opposite. Nothing wrong with the Mishimoto pan, but you are "bound to them" for o-ring replacements, whereas the PPE pan uses the OEM gasket (which is not only reusable, but readily available).

I'm a commercial truck engineer. I myself have had good experience with o-ring covers on transmissions, carriers and engines. But you have good points.

Bumper to taillights. Involved from concept to production, because of my broad background. It was a unique situation. I traveled the world and attended the IAA show in Hanover, Germany held every 2 years. It takes you 3 days minimum to see everything. Huge show.

I did Mountain Bike design, testing and manufacturing engineering then later high accuracy force and pressure transducer design. Freightliner was a good customer of mine when I moved to software and we provided them with predictive NVH modeling tools. A cool company.
