Mabett makes front cap kits for A-arm bolts in nice clear anodized aluminum. Could you be thinking of this? Ping to @Mabett for a product idea here for Raptor/Rear.

Yeah you're right the Raptor isn't "proper". The best on the market at low and high speed wheeling...
I suspect the relatively low shock mounts are due to a combination of travel, packaging and desired handling characteristics. Many of the latter such as roll steer, axle wrap and understeer had targets to reach. More details here...
Rear Shock Mount Bolt Rehab/Protection:
I noticed some rock damage to the bolts (threads) connecting the lower shock mount to the axle.
These bolts just stick out too far into the "line of fire"...

I have some additional measurements (for Raptor). If one only needs to get a single wheel off the ground for changing, strokes are of course much smaller with alternative/non-standard jack placements.

A Raptor solution needs a 14" or shorter jacks...
I've only had to jack up my prior rig (4Runner) twice off roading. The factory jack, up on a flat support rock, was arduous but workable. I'm wondering if there is an upgraded solution from the Raptor factory jack that remains fairly minimalist while still being an upgrade?

Minor update here as well. Mine stopped working for a day, but came back after sitting overnight before I got motivated to disconnect the battery...). To be clear, it came back spontaneously, as I did nothing to "fix" it.
