Actually, there's something that doesn't make sense, look at the center of the clutch plate, there is no evidence that it was overheated in a way that would damage the transmission.

Sure, there's evidence that the flywheel was overheated and that the clutch was falling apart, but it also looked like it wasn't getting proper clamping pressure from the pressure plate. This could be manufacturing defect, because it looks like only the edge of the disk was failing.

When the plate is truly overheated, you will see color change evidence in the center of the clutch plate.

look below for examples

That gonna be expensive. I hope this guy is your friend. If not, I hope you have some money in the bank or a high limit credit card. This is one of the reason there are very few people I would let drive my cars, and all but 2 are related to me. The 2 that aren't, I know the risk and would not ask for a penny from if something like this happened. Very unfortunate, but your dealer is correct. That being said, if I were the service manager, I'd try my best to get it covered under good will. Isn't there some law that says even wear items are covered for the 1st 12 months? But that likely has an abuse clause as well. Either way, best of luck and hopefully the parts are available.

I was just thinking of the same video when he mentioned the beach. His buddy thought he was throwing a sweet rooster but he was really just getting lung cancer from burnt asbestos.🤓

Didn't Ford replace that other 10 mile burnt up clutch/transmission under warranty? The one they got so hot they blued the input shaft.... But that wasn't abuse...

Automatic transmission for the win, 😉 sorry, not sorry 😬. That’s a lot of crud built up in that bellhousing for 4500 miles 🤔.

It’s looks like the transmission seal failed got grease on the clutch plate , causing slippage and burned the clutch up. What ever you do replace all of it even the pressure plate

Yeah that thing is toast and was abused. I've had 3 high horsepower manuals(2 Camaro Z28's and a C5 Corvette, all highly modified) and even when the clutches finally couldn't hold the power anymore the clutches didn't look that bad. like not even close.

clutch is about 1000 to replace. that's not the big deal. it's the transmission that is. Ford doesn't even have the part (transmission) in stock. back ordered until end of Aug or later.
What possible reason would they give you for having to replace the transmission due to a scorched clutch? Chances of any damage other than possibly the input shaft seal are pretty slim.

That would make more sense... The input shaft of the transmission shows no signs of any discoloration.

yes but he hasn't driven it. I let a guy use it and while he was driving it at the beach is when the clutch failed. how can you tell it's abused? what would someone have to do to cause this kind of damage?
Uhhh…..your question is answered. Your “friend” used it alright.

Yes this is real. Ford is rejecting warranty replacement of the failed clutch and transmission on my 2022 Bronco Big Bend manual transmission. Bronco has 4500 miles on it. Clutch is "burnt up" according to dealer. They claim this only happens with abusing the vehicle. My Bronco has not been abused and only driven off road at the beach.

Anyone else having transmission and Clutch issues? Did Ford reject your claim?
