I currently have the stock SAS wheels with the Goodyear territory’s. I’m switching to Toyo Open Country RT Pro’s 35x12.5r17. I’m also switching to wheels that are 17x8 with a +55 offset. So compared to the SAS wheels which are 17x8.5 with a +30 offset I figured I’d need 1” spacers…but now I’m wondering with the new wheel also being .5” narrower will I need a 1.5” spacer? Thoughts? Thanks

I would recommend against the +55 wheels.

The width of the wheel is going to affect how the tire width is expressed as the contact patch. If it were wider, then you might want thicker spacers or a wheel with "less" offset.

I not as concerned with the width of the wheel with the tire, 8” is within the recommended width from Toyo for that tire. I’m more concerned with rubbing and keeping the geometry as close as I can to the +30 wheels and avoid any rubbing…+55 is about an inch difference so I thought it should be pretty close

I really like these in the pictures and video, they have an old school look but are still ford parts…im not huge on aftermarket stuff. I like the 2nd ones in the video below as well which are SAS wheel specs but they are going to be everywhere in a few months as they’re an option on the 2026’s…the 12 hole ones I’ve never really seen.

Wheel width won’t matter…offset will…I don’t understand not getting wheels with proper offset so ya don’t have to run spacers…but you do you…

Because I like those wheels and they don’t come in a +30 but I can buy high quality 1” spacers that will make them essentially +30.

If anything I would go more negative then positive. + means it will sit inside your wheel liner more not stick out farther. See if they have a 0mm offset or between that and the 30 of the stock. Anything more then 30 you may run into rubbing issues.

At +55 you're going to be extremely close to rubbing the UCAs running a 12.5" wide tire no matter the width of the wheel. A 1" spacer will get you close to the SAS OEM wheels (+30)...no need to go 1.5" unless you want a bit more poke.

I have found this site to be invaluable when thinking about upgrading wheels or tires. There is even an offset calculator as well.

Just had the Bronze version installed on my 23 Badlands sasquatch on the stock goodyear tires a few days ago. With this offset & width it pulled the tire inward about an 1"/1.5" approx. currently not rubbing on anything but front control arm is close. Was thinking to get 1.5" spacers and call it good.

Spare tire/wheel combo will not mount back up, tire is hitting the body, needs to be spaced out.

Zen50…thank you! Awesome info, let me know what spacers you wind up using and how you like them and what you do with the spare. Enjoy the new wheels!
