But did you remove the lines from the transmission?
Yes, sure did. No issue with the O-ring at all. Pulled the lines out for clearance, then reinstalled.

Did anyone reuse the Nuts for the trans lines and sway bar disconnect or buy new as recommended?

I don't get it. Why would they need to be replaced? Are these lines structural or load bearing? The stress of containing transmission fluid pressure is weakening the metal?

Great question. I haven't noticed any lower temps yet. I've only driven is a few hundred miles since the install however. I'm guessing I won't see any significant difference unless run really hard, or towing heavily.
I didn't consider the "deep" pan option for two reasons. The first is I didn't want to decrease ground clearance. I don't know the specifics of the deep pan, and how much lower it would actually be. The deep pan could also limit the number of after market skid plates that are available if I decided to install one that protects the transmission.
The second reason was, I am not sure of the fit for the Bronco. I have not checked PPEs site lately, but when I purchased the pan, it only showed that the normal depth pan was compatible with the Bronco.
Just an additional piece of info. The stock bolts will work fine in the PPE pan. However, I ended up replacing all 18 of them primarily so they would match. Six of the stock bolts have stud extensions, which are not used on my Bronco. The required bolt size is 6mm by 25mm length.
The deep pan will not interfere with most skid plates (my RCI plates will clear with no issue) and it fits the Bronco's 10R60 transmission with no issues.

The stud bolts will not work on the rear part of the pan--the oversized heads hit the edge of the pan before they are tight.

I bought all new Ford bolts (the regular non-stud pan bolts) for mine.

FYI. The Mishimoto pan comes with new bolts. Although at that price they better.

Thats my question. Ford says to throw away...Seems silly to me...

I got one, but am waiting until I have to pull the trans skid again before installing it.

Ebay is cheaper. The Chinese company B&M is using is underselling them & there are quite a few sellers on there. Funny thing was that the first couple of months B&M's price was about $150 then all of a sudden it doubled :sneaky: It is a nice kit though 🤠.

I have a deep PPE pan on the way and was looking back through to make sure I have what I need to make the swap. I looked at the plastic pan and I see the stud bolts, six I believe, but I am not sure why they are there. Any ideas why Ford used them instead of just going with all regular bolts?

If I remember correctly, the stud bolts were used in various other applications (F150, Ranger) to support part of the heat shield. To install the deep pan, you can reuse all of the original bolts, along with the gasket. Just be careful removing the gasket to not damage it.

You are going to need to replace the rear studs (I would do them all) with pan bolts (the same ones that are installed from the factory). The issue with the rear studs is the stud flange is too large and it digs into the side of the pan instead of tightening against the pan flange and will result in a leak.

I installed the PPE Deep Transmission pan yesterday. I drained 8 Qts/2 gallons of fluid prior to removing the stock pan. I ended up reusing the tortion bar bolts and cooler line bolt. No leaks so far. After the new pan was installed it took 10 Qts/ 2.5 gallons of fluid to get it between 3 and 4 (3.5) Hot. I also installed the Chinesium after market transmission dip stick.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGV1B9C9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

It bolted right up and was long enough to get to the engine compartment just fine. The problem is the dipstick its self is at least an inch too short and doesn't reach the transmission fluid. I'm going to see if I can extend it somehow. does anyone know of a place that sells parts to make a cable dip stick?
