The problem is the dipstick its self is at least an inch too short and doesn't reach the transmission fluid. I'm going to see if I can extend it somehow. does anyone know of a place that sells parts to make a cable dip stick?
That's not good. Are you sure it's too short? It has to be up to temp 206-215 degrees F. It is shorter than the stock dipstick, but you need to align the back end to where it reads on the stock dipstick. I have the B&M one (Likely the same), but have not installed it yet. I plan on checking against the stock dipstick reading before switching out the pan whenever I get around to it.

That’s the dipstick for an early 10R80 like out of a 18 f150

The Bronco dip stick is similar, but the correct level is down around here:

So I can see why it would be too short.

I'm sure its too short. I verified like 3 times that my fluid was at 3.5 with hot transmission fluid on the little stock dipstick. Put the aftermarket dipstick in and it doesn't even touch the fluid. I took the top of the aftermarket dipstick tube off, That made the tube about 1.25 inches shorter, Reinserted the dip stick and the trans fluid barely touched the bottom the the dipstick. Its not a matter of transferring the hash marks over as the dip stick doesn't touch the trans fluid.

Yeah, I have a couple options I'm considering, I will update once I figure it out.

Yeah I'm going to need a solution as well so if you could measure how much you added & or final length of the dipstick that would be much appreciated ;)

Also how you avoid 3rd degree burns checking the fluid level with the factory dipstick would be good.

You are going to need to replace the rear studs (I would do them all) with pan bolts (the same ones that are installed from the factory). The issue with the rear studs is the stud flange is too large and it digs into the side of the pan instead of tightening against the pan flange and will result in a leak.
I am doing the deep/high capacity trans pan too. You’re saying you can’t use the stud bolts with the deep pan? If so, do you happen to have a part number for the pan bolts? I’m assuming it’ll look better too since all the bolts will be the same.
