I have two 2024 Broncos with mid-packages.
That means they both have an inverter and AC 110V/400W outlet at the rear of the center console, paired with an inverter under the console.

However, the trucks have different batteries, and different hold-down straps. Why?
I can understand Ford having two battery suppliers (I assume they do). But not requiring different hold-down straps.

The simpler strap atop the larger battery, per Ford parts, is for Broncos with inverters.
Both trucks have inverters, and yet one has a smaller battery, and a hold-down strap with a tack-welded side piece limiting how far the battery can be mounted towards the engine.

This smaller battery's hold-down is listed for Bronco's without an inverter, though I have an inverter.

BAGM-48H6-760 AGM?, 70AH/760amp, LxWxH 10.84 x 6.825 x 7.41

BAGM-94RH7-800 AGM, 80AH/800amp, LxWxH 12.285 x 6.825 x 7.41

Without power inverter - https://www.fordpartspros.com/oem-parts/ford-hold-down-clamp-mb3z10a666a

With power inverter - https://www.fordpartspros.com/oem-parts/ford-hold-down-clamp-mb3z10718a

(Battery tray MB3Z-10732-A is same for both)

Given both trucks are mid's with inverters, I don't understand why both trucks don't have the larger 800 amp battery.

Wouldn’t be the first time a manufacturer changed something mid year. Which one has the newer build date?
Edit. Are they both Everglades? Possibly one has heavy duty charging system and the other doesn’t? Which has to do with model not mid package or not I believe. (I’m just guessing at this point)

I have a BD with mid package and inverter. Jan 7 build date. I’ll see which battery I have tonight after work.

I have a basic 21 BB, a friend has a 21 non Sas Badlands, IDK if he has an inverter. He has the bigger battery, I the smaller. When mine gives out I figured I'd get the bigger, and would need to modify of get the new hold down.

Everglades has the larger 800 amp.
I can't locate the tag on the alternators (to confirm same or different) due to there being so many other parts crowding around it.
The 800 amp battery looks like a higher quality product.
The 760 amp is off-gassing. Acid fumes are clearly present.

Possibly larger battery for the Everglades winch?
True. There was a time when US automakers listed standard (and optional) batteries with the CCA. Surely, Ford has technical specifications information.

Does the heritage have the auxiliary up fitter switches? I believe the Everglades comes with them. It’s an option on the heritage. Could it be possible the up fitter switches is the call for the larger battery? Just guessing.

I realize that's a joke but is it really? Would anyone be totally shocked if that was the case given Ford's history of QC?
Yup. It’s only a joke because there’s more truth to it than should be

From the Owners manual, the battery is different if you have the aux switches or the aux switches and a winch vs neither of them.

Battery.webp
If that’s true, even as an add-on option, the auxiliary switches were already a bargain, they are REALLY a good deal if you get the bigger battery with them.
