Rev E is the updated transmission. It will have B on the tag. Engineering and parts numbers are not the same.
Wonder if the tech broke the case? Wouldn’t be the first time.
I'm seeing the painted top on various models today. Here it is on the Badlands.
Weird thing though, they are now showing 2 different MIC tops. One is carbonized gray, the other maybe a black???
One transmission with no legit source back when the rail workers or someone in transport was also burning up clutches. Very few, if any, show wear of any kind. One recently showed some odd rust on the shaft but even the tech said he never saw that before so is probably related to sitting too...
That EG was sitting at the Ford dealer in Latrobe. Had taken a run there to check it out since mine was to be almost the same. Had not seen one similar at the time.
Realized you were also from PA. Which end of the state?
I think the felt type liners suck but all the manufactures seem to be going that route. They are quieter when stones hit them. You've got people complaining about the little tag on a Bestop top making a noise in the wind, just imagine if they heard the rocks hitting the liner up front
Zero mods to the factory wiring. Much easier than running wires for stick on magnets.
I'd double check the wire connectors. Should go to #6 and #7 I believe. It's been over a year so going from memory. Make sure they are making contact.
I would not but up to you. Per the Owners Manual:
Do not use:
• Fuel containing more than 15% ethanol
or E85 fuel.
Have seen cases at the local garage where 87 octane was a lot higher than the 10% stated at the pump so just imagine if they mess up the 15% blend.
Here in PA, premium is about $.70 cents more than 87. And that is not even 93 octane. Have used both and find not enough difference to pay an almost 20% up charge. Still get 22 mpg avg on my 2 door SAS 2.3 manual with regular 87 fuel.
If you go with the Bilsteins, pay attention to which work with your setup. A few options only work with the SAS but some for both. The 6100 specifically don't fit yours unless buying the kit with the springs.
2021 2 Door Base Bilstein Shock Options
You are correct. While the engine can safely run on 87 octane, the best performance is on 91 and higher. It's even listed in the owners manual and in the technical specs. The 2.3 gains 25 hp and the 2.7 15 hp when using premium fuel. Most likely uses the knock sensors to adjust the timing which...
If one is purchased, I would definitely give it a thorough inspection. Look at how many people have had hard tops replaced that had to go through multiple reorders to get a good one.
