I haven’t read the entire thread up to today.

Has anyone brought up the added weight, (higher?) CG, reduced cargo capacity, etc? If you wanna wheel this thing, especially with gear and armor, that all seems relevant given how slim the margins were already. How much heavier will you be after this swap? Will it be tippier off-road? Will it corner like a pig on pavement?

Isn’t the godzilla only a hundred pounds more than the 2.7? Not sure what the ancillary changes would be. (Could be wrong on the weight difference)

Has anyone ever seen a current generation Hummer, Rivian or euro whatever EV suv actually on a trail? I have not, and did not see any in Moab either.

Maybe the eventual second hand owners will actually wheel them 🤷‍♂️
Mine is strictly a commuter, not an off roader. That’s what my Raptor is for.

A good friend posted this morning. I don't have all the details, but if Livernois is involved it should be good.

Over a year in development … the 5.0 Coyote V8 swap Gen 6 Bronco is now available through Badass Broncos! Engineered by Livernois Motorsports & Engineering with all stock functionality left intact. Dash, driver modes, A/C, and emissions (pending) are all retained. Available now …

Let me start off by saying that if the coyote was available from the factory, that’s what I would’ve purchased because I crave the V8 sound. However, I have the 2.7 and the coyote in F150s and the 2.7 absolutely roasts the coyote in every performance category, especially when towing with my trucks. My 2023 Badlands with the 2.7 would easily lift the front tires off the ground if I could get enough traction to do so, so unless you supercharge the coyote, the performance is not going to be worth any cost associated for the swap. I also have the 2.3 L with the seven speed in a 2025 Badlands and while it is adequate, it is a slug compared to the 2.7. Sorry if I pissed a bunch of people off by saying these things.

Hey now I saw The Martian and Matt Damon had to recharge his EV off-roader during the day, and travel by night. So that’s sure to be fun in an EV Bronco.

We all know how the Tesla’s work off-road 😜. But I am genuinely curious on how the Rivian’s performed?

Good to know. I prefer the low end rather than all out power. I love the 13/14 s197 body style, peak (modern) style IMO. If I ever really get the bug for more power, I'll just install a supercharger for a fraction of the cost and way more benefit.
Frankly I wouldn't want to sound like a Mustang. Every douche in town drives a Mustang GT with an overtly loud, raspy exhaust and they all sound like shit. Plus I don't want to wait til 4500 rpm to make any real power and constantly have to wind that bitch out to get any sort of go.

Plus I can tune the Bronco to make substantially more hp without any major parts swaps. Just bolt on.
Prior to my Stage 3 Phase 2 Roush Mustang (Gen 2 Coyote), I owned an early build 2011 GT/CS (Gen 1 Coyote).

Loved the sound of that 2011, but as others have said, you really had to put your foot into it to get the power. The 2.3L supercharger sitting on top of the Gen 2 Coyote in the Roush takes care of that. My Mustang "only" puts out 727 hp that was easily bested by the last gen GT500. However, I will say that my car pulls like a mother as soon as you touch the accelerator pedal. It is intoxicating and will vaporize tires at will. It seriously commands respect in order to prevent you from being featured in the latest "Mustang Leaving Cars & Coffee" video.

It seems like all the truck manufactures are having serious engine issues including Ram and Chevy V8 engines. Cylinder deactivation has been a disaster! How are the new Coyote engines, haven't heard as many horror stories about them. Despite initial hesitation I'm feeling pretty good with the 2.3L engine, rock solid so far.
I have not experienced any oil consumption issues with my Gen 2 and from all the articles I have read, the Coyote platform is one of the best that Ford has put out. It is very overbuilt and can handle much more power without having to reinforce the internals.

I can't speak for what Ford did for the GT500, but Roush simply bolted on a super charger and tuned it to make 727 hp (up from the stock 435 back in 2016). THey did install cooler plugs, upgraded the suspension, rear half-shafts and added an auxiliary fuel pump module, but the engine was not cracked open.

Having said that, it could use improved cooling as it pulled power on me the last time I took it on a very short track with short straights. It was on the last of three 20-minute runs I did on a high-performance track day.

Neither were doing anything serious that I saw…dirt trails and 1.5-2 ft water/mud..they did fine and seemed to be having fun…

A turbocharger itself has one moving part, the shaft that the compressor and turbine wheels are mated to. If you want to include the waste gate and a boost controller, that makes three moving parts. That doesn't make for more moving parts than a coyote, nor is it as complicated as you make it out to be.
Yet the engine those turbos are mounted to still has all the same moving parts as a Coyote.

I don't see how that matters, it would only be a matter of time before I slapped a set of turbos on it too.

Because the person I replied to was claiming a turboed engine was less complicated than a coyote

I agree. Duratecs are fabulous engines and this 2.7 with upgraded turbos, IC, Exhaust etc and tune will deliver enormous numbers. I love the 2.3 because torque is almost instant...no waiting. Coyotes are slow to deliver torque but when they do it's smile time.

I like them all but love the silky stout 2.7 on high quality premium fuel.
