I am in the process of installing a Warn Zeon Platinum winch using a Lobo Hidden Winch skid plate. Because this winch is controlled by a remote control, I thought it would be a good idea to install a cut-off switch in the engine bay to stop battery drain that might occur due to the winch looking for the remote. Anyway, I bought a 500A manual switch from Amazon (see pic below). My problem is where and how to mount it. I have the 2.3L new (2025/2026) engine so my engine compartment might be different than earlier models. I thought about mounting it where the current battery chassis ground stud is, using M6 rivnuts, and moving the ground connection elsewhere or if I had an aftermarket braket that would allow installation on the side of the battery or ... So, I decided to ask the forum for advice/suggestions. Here are some pics:

 🤔 Does the winch look for the remote or the remote for the winch?

Maybe both? I think there is some kind of handshake where the winch and remote connect.
Google agrees on mine anyway (smittybuilt) unless I use the off switch on the winch (I don't I had no idea why it was needed) then the winch is scanning for "handshake". I will start flipping it off (only figuratively, I really like the winch!)

I installed a bracket for my winch control box and the solenoid in front of battery. My solenoid is connected to Aux switch 3 since the aux wire comes out right there.

Can't you just power the winch with the aux switches (if you have them) vs needing a separate cutoff? Aux 1 or 2 are 30/15 amp respectively, which should be good for the winch.

Winches can exceed 500A

If you can power the controller separately that can be on the switch and will do what you are looking for. Warns have the power separated I believe

You could use an Aux switch to trigger a solenoid (relay) to power the winch but no, you cannot power the winch directly through an Aux switch.
