Well yesterday was a busy day of warranty requests after swapping out my last spare tie rod on Sunday!

Rough Country just sent me out a 3rd set under warranty! Currently what I am running and been pretty happy with them. They last about 2 oil changes before developing enough play in the inner that they need to be changed. Haven't physically broke one but they slowly loosen up. Total 4-dead inners... Warranty just changed from lifetime to 12 months... Non directional which is why I like them, you only need to carry one outer.

Dorman... Company sucks, Rockauto who I bought them from also sucks... Product is fine, lasts the same as all the other aftermarket options. BEST TIE ROD BOOTS YOU CAN GET FOR HOSS 3.0. Currently have a set in the mail as of this morning, been trying to warranty a set for 6 months. Total 2-dead inners...

Icon warrantied 1 set and currently trying to warranty the second set. First time was a cake walk, second time is ongoing. They lasted the least amount of time, usually just past an oil change or a tire rotation. Total 4-dead inners...

Hoss 3.0, just got a second set with my spare rack. They last the longest at almost 3 oil changes and most others people get way more life out of them. Total 2-dead inners... And 1 set in stock (current spares). They are worth the money, but I like to experiment.

Still have 1 stock hoss 2.0 inner and two outers kicking around the garage. Inner got donated to a few years ago on the trail. They may snap but I have only seen 1 inner joint fail at 40K miles after kissing a tree.

Ultimately it comes down to the inner failing at some point. For me it shows up as steering wheel play. Vehicle off, turn the wheel and you will feel a little play in the steering. Drives me nuts so I swap them out, also kills tires pretty quick. So my Hoss 3.0 rack with 74weld bushing/housing has outlasted 12 inner tie rods!

I got rid of the rouch cuntries junk ...running APEX for both my Bronco on 41s and the Ranger Rappy on 37s. Mostly because they advertise a metal cup on the inner joint, the others ALL used plastic!!! And the inner joints seem to wear much faster than the outer and developed play...

So far so good 7,000 miles so far...

Dam why so many tie rods? Running 37s or hitting the Rubicon on the daily?
Thanks

Have you looked at the TerraFlex Tie rods yet? I just saw them on their site. They are grease able, rebuild able, and you can tighten them up over time. Not sure how they will hold up, and a little spendy.

I think im just going to get replacement for OEM, mine have held up pretty well, with the JKS sleeve.
was also looking at APEX.

I think a lot of it comes from me slow rolling into obstacles, giving it a bump. I went through more steering parts than others when I was wheeling Toyotas. California is a lot of rock gardens which is just hard on IFS parts.

You're like the 3rd person to bring those up. I like the idea of being able to readjusting them to take the play out. Realistically it's like a heim joint and it will wear out. As you keep pinching it tighter you are going to egg out the softer surface. Once it losses the roundness it be near impossible to keep adjusted. Cool idea, not practical in real world applications.

Haven't seen any positive long term feedback on Carli tie rod setup, which is pretty similar. Also I am way past paying to be a guinea pig and sticking to $180 rough country tie rods for another year or two.

You should mount them on the wall like game trophies with the manufacturer sticker underneath and the date range they survived.
