lol.... you are replacing the drain plug at every oil change, and you are concerned about saving a few bucks??

I'm just having fun with you, you made me laugh... you do what makes you happy, it's all good!
If the oil drain plug has not been leaking when I take it out I will reuse it. By changing it every time I would actually be worried I would get a bad "new" one .
I did the 1st few changes at my mechanic just bc I was busy and lazy he uses Amsoil as his "house" oil. I did my own change yesterday(Amsoil signature series) for the 1st time and finally installed the UPR plug (#3025-4). It's very well made and should make life a ton easier down the road.

UPR works for pre-2025… after that the plug changed and UPR doesn’t fit correctly with the internal pan lugs.
The Ronin new ver2 unit fits old and new style pans.
I'm not sure that is true. The UPR plugs still show they fit up to 2026 2.7s. They also make 5 different styles I think.
I have a 2024 Wildtrak so I'm good to go.
I’m positive it’s wrong… they sent me the one for 2025 3.0 and it was so tight on lugs… and last 1/3 turn was beyond what it should be for extreme tightness, especially compared to OEM.
I sent photo of my OEM Plug… then new to see the 2 O-Rings. (Previous Post and photos on this, and comparing turning degree to Ronin). They had no knowledge of the new plug… they still felt it “should” work… although they didn’t have a 2025 to examine, nor felt the tension on the pan’s lugs. Absolutely wrong Plug!
Returned and got Ronin Ver2… fits great, no issues, able to depress and remove if needed.
Plastic pan, plastic lugs… wear the lugs or break… new pan. Not worth the headache when a Ronin works smooth and pops into lugs positive and easily.
You’all run what ya want… just sharing personal experience and observation.

Interesting. I have a 2024 so I shouldn't have a problem at all anyway. The fit was perfect. What did they change about the oil pans in 2025? I don't think they changed the pans, just the plugs so there shouldn't be a reason they dont fit. Maybe @Ducati1098 can chime in?

Help me clarify a bit... in the other thread you stated that you bought the plug and installed it. It was a snug fit but went in place. Then you found it difficult to remove, so you removed it and returned it and assumed it didn't fit? But did it ever leak or cause an issue? Did you ever even drive with it?
My take on the plug: it went in smoothly and clicked right in place. I didn't remove it and I never will as long as I own the truck. It should be snug. It's keeping the oil in the pan. I'll report back if I ever come across any issues with it.
From my additional research on the issue… it’s only 2025 upward, not your 2024. As initially stated, UPD fits fine on 2024. Your OEM oil plug was the previous style, the 2025 was the start of new plug.
You should be able to remove plug, not just the valve… regardless your intention. I was concerned on fit the moment I pushed it to contact lugs… I actually feel I slightly rounded my Pan’s Lugs when removed UPD one time… which verified poor / incorrect fit… way to tight, no detent ability. You stated yours went in smoothly & clicked. It didn’t on my, it took substantially more torque to tighten it the last 30 degrees or so.
You go out and check yours, you’ll be able to slightly depress the plug… which is how you remove it per instructions. On the 2025, there is zero depression, so it removes by pressing against and forcing past the detent notch.
It’s supposed to click into Lugs, and be able to detent and remove similar to OEM. Using valve is a benefit but isn’t the only intended method.
When plug remains in, using valve you leave a little less than a 1/2 qt additional in pan.
The Ronin fit snug, and clicked into lugs as desired, sealing nicely… and easily depressed & released lugs just a touch harder than OEM.
So no, it’s not supposed to be a permanent plug… it should easily remove if desired. As the Ronin performs.
Again, your ‘24 isn’t a concern. Although I don’t believe they’ve released a new version since my discussions in February. If they have corrected their design… that’s great but I doubt it very much. If not, Ronin is the best route for 2025 upward.
