Bronco 2.7 oil drain plug - is this new plug correct?

I ordered KX6Z-6730-B which I believe is the right oil drain plug for the 2.7, but when I picked up my order, my local dealer gave me ML3Z-6730-B instead. They said it is the correct part replacing the old one, and they no longer carry the old one. However, on ford parts website the new plug is for explorer 3.0 only. I search the internet and find very few info about this. Does anyone use the ML3Z-6730-B? Bronco is my first Ford and this is the first oil change. Thank you for help in advance.

I just made a call to Ford, and I was told according to their system, the KX6Z-6730-B is replaced by ML3Z-6730-A, then recently ML3Z-6730-A is replaced by ML3Z-6730-B. The parts website hasn't update this info yet. I just want to share this info here for those who have the same question.

KX6Z-6730-B is the correct part number. It hasnt been replaced by ML3Z-6730-B

Just to stay safe, I always change the plastic plug during each oil change on my previous vehicle. I believe you don't have to according to Ford. It's just my personal preference.

It’s not discontinued, it may have been out of stock at your dealership, but Ford has plenty of the correct ones available currently to order.

Took the new one back to the dealer to get the correct part and was assured that the old one was no longer available and despite the differences, this IS the replacement.

Thank you, I just called Ford and was confirmed that the ML3Z-6730-B is replacing KX6Z-6730-B. I ordered KX6Z but received ML3Z when I picked up.

It is great if you can get a KX6Z-6730-B, Ford didn't say there is anything wrong with the KX6Z, I guess they just replacing it because of supply chain reasons, so now they can use the same plug for multi models.

OK.... you do you. I put over 100K miles between two F150's with the 2.7EB & OEM quarter turn plastic oil drain plug, never had a problem. 'Jus sayin'...
