I am just looking for some insight on how big of a tire I can actually go... I have a 2 door Sasquatch with a 3inch Zone lift, looking into getting a 1.5inch body lift as well. I have aftermarket wheels that have a small bit of offset vs the stock wheels. I see some people have 37s, 38s and I know those are 75lb-85lb a tire, up from the 52lb stock Goodyear's, and the 40s I am looking at are 90lb. I do go fart around off-road from time to time, nothing too serious and yeah... Any info on what I am going to need to slap the 40s on would be good.

Nope. Three-inch lift won't do it by itself. You'll need some "trimming". (not to mention some other stuff). The highest I would go on stock SAS would be 37s (and that will need some finagling).

Some work beyond a lift to run 37s but can keep stock fenders and liners if you push it. It’s more than just a lift kit though.

Much more work beyond that to run 40s - you need a lot more than just a lift.

That's what I am asking... Like, what else do I need?

New fenders. Max tire kit. Suspension upgrade. Strongly consider Dana Ultimate front and rear axles and severe duty steering rack.

Several people around here are running 40s, I’d check out @BigMeatsBronco - some of his earlier build info

I have OBX SAS. 3' lift, crash bars removed, Camburg UCAs, Icon shocks, and I drive on 35s. I can go to 37s if I change the wheels (different offset). No trimming required.

I would have guessed some aftermarket supplier has gotten around to offering a (relatively) easy and inexpensive (when compared) bracket lift kit for the 6g Bronco for those who want big tires and look but are not going to rock craw it in any real way such as the OP...does this not exist?

Yup - sounds good for 37s - similar to what I’ve done for my 38s - just add a 3/4ā€ body lift.

But you may need more than that for 40s though.

The 17 (give or take) posts about the RC 7ā€ lift kit from earlier this week.

Have extra money in your budget for the items you’ll tear up, ie - transmissions, diffs, tie rods, transfer case failure possibilities, engine failure possibilities, etc. All which won’t be covered.

Engine failure from running 40’s ? Lol. And I don’t think the OP is asking about warranty issues. Maybe I missed it.

He asked what else he needed, I told him to have extra money for the parts he would wear out / trash. I also said possibilities. Maybe you don’t go off roading enough to break stuff, IDK.

I’ve already replaced a broken front differential off-roading smart ass. How would one break an engine pray tell?
