Smaller Tire size to run a Sasquatch package

Please don't hate me put I'm thinking about running a smaller tire size on my Badlands with Sas package. Please provide any feedback if you have done this to your Sas. Also include your tire size you are running.

1. Why are you thinking of this idea?
2. Are you still off-roading / what is your use case for said smaller tire?

If you’re looking for better highway gains you’re better off finding a 315/70/17 LT all season and running a lower tire pressure, as most are E range. Lower PSI will keep them semi compliant. But we need more info first.

I have a non-Sasquatch Badlands and I think 33s (285/70R17 BFG KO2) suit it well. I would think you could go down to that without any problem - they fill out the wheel-well decently, especially at stock height. It's still more capable than my skill and bravery most of the time, and there are tons of options for tires to run.
Depending on what you're trying to achieve, you could also consider a skinnier tire. I plan to go to a 255/85R17 "skinny 35" for which Mickey Thompson's Baja Boss AT is really the only option. My goal is to keep the +55mm offset of the non-Sasquatch wheels and narrow my track width as much as possible.

Can we ask why you are thinking about doing this? The stock Goodyears are really around a 34" tire and being C-rated are pretty light. A smaller tire will throw off your speedo/odometer, could mess up trans shifting if automatic. Is the vehicle too high to get into? Are you looking for better mpg (a lot of 33" tires are D and E rated and won't help mpg), just looking for cheaper tires to save money? Does it ride too firm (the stock tires are pretty soft so going smaller might not help that)?

The stock only measure about 34.25, a true 33 would be fine.

I just ordered 285/75 for my 2 door sas, they are roughly 34x11.5. Ive already swapped out fender flares to the thinner non-sas ones and now waiting on Thinner tires before driving it again. I have method/ford performance wheels waiting on the new tires. I didn’t like the look of the larger flares and the oem Goodyears have to go asap. I drive on gravel everyday and they are awful.
i almost went with the 285/70, larger choice and p-rated available, but decided to go middle of road.

You can find Toyo AT3s, BFG K02s, Falken Wildpeak AT3 / AT4s in C range in 35in.

Run a set of MTs. You won't have to worry about the tiny gravel peppering the sides. Of course with the larger tread blocks, the rocks that do get slung - .

It’s actually impressive how perfectly the tread is for picking up rocks and flinging them. Going from gravel to paved road you’d think you just drove into a Detroit ‘hood based on the sound

Good post for a sound consideration. I suspect that most of the haters run 35s just because they like the looks.

Kenda Klever R/T's can be found in 33's and 35's in Load C if you're not looking for a stiff sidewall (also D in a 35). They are close to true to size (32.8" and 34.80").
