4bt swap would be pretty cool in my opinion.We can dream. The list of folks who will pay for a 30-40k 7.3 or 5.0 swap is already kinda small. Make it a diesel and probably 10 times less. I wish more people were interested.

7.3 would work better with the over over drive 10 speed and allow you to run less gearing. Even blasting around at redline you will need more gearing with a high reving V8. Most think the 4.71 are all they need but there isn't much headroom to go upI get your point, but there is no such thing as a free lunch. Back pressure driving through turbo does create losses (which are of course more than made up for by the gains). There are also frictional losses and issues like heat soak (thermodynamic loss)
However, technicalities aside and as I'll get to below, there is another huge type of "loss".
Not everyone only crawls. If you haven't, you need to drive a Raptor in some sandy, open, high speed terrain in Baja mode. If you are driving "properly" (i.e. aggressively), rpms stay quite high and there is a lot of shifting to support that. It's downright infectious.
That said what OEMs do is more about cost and profit than anything else. What made sense in all of the Broncos was to leverage high volume manufacturing efficiencies and simply grab an engine "off the shelf". Cost is king!
But now lastly and far from least, what is lost in a turbo are really big things - throttle response, sound and overall engine character.
There is a reason that as engines get higher and higher performance (racing) their redlines generally go higher. Making torque is good whereas the ability of an engine to make said torque at higher and higher rpms is what gets true performance (torque at high rpm = high power).
As much as I love my Raptor it has bad turbo lag. Not only does that hurt performance but it hurts when you really want the power and you have mashed it and then.... wait...wait.... oh here you go, I'll spool up now and gradually let you have some juice. The throttle response in a performance oriented NA engine is both useful and down right addictive, regardless of the type of driving one is doing.
Sound is similar. What our rigs sound like absolutely matters. Sound can make a vehicle seem slower or faster than it is objectively. Again, nothing beats the scream of a high performance/high redline, NA engine with a good exhaust. In comparison my Raptor sounds a bit anemic, plugged up and warbly.
To each their own and luckily for us choice is expanding.
I had plans to do a 3.0 short block, but keeping the 2.7 heads for the dual injection. Would’ve been a really cool build. But I decided to buy a corvette instead lol

I think you will be able to stay stock as the 7.3 seems to do fine in F250 with 4.10s and 35s with the same transmission ratios.So you think 5.13 or 5.38 with 37s if you have the Godzilla installed?

So you think a Coyote swapped into a Bronco with the likely 10R80 swap as well (for all practical purposes same ratios as 10R60) would need to be regeared? I think the only trans option for the 7.3 swap is 10R80.
