I believe it was more of a "WTF! Ford actually built a Bronco so there will be competition in the segment! Throw in a V8 now!" I also think manufacturers pre plan for these types of events in case they are needed. I get your point, but there is no such thing as a free lunch. Back pressure driving through turbo does create losses (which are of course more than made up for by the gains). There are also frictional losses and issues like heat soak (thermodynamic loss)Turbos are FREE power and make an engine MUCH more efficient power to size. It's like what, 3 extra moving parts per turbo, the turbo/compressor/shaft assembly, the waste gate, and a blow-off valve, with piping (an intercooler is just piping that dissipates heat)... A Coyote with turbos is the ultimate way to go. Wait, a Godzilla with turbos........

Not everyone only crawls. If you haven't, you need to drive a Raptor in some sandy, open, high speed terrain in Baja mode. If you are driving "properly" (i.e. aggressivelyFord didn't do it because it doesn't make sense to put in a heavier engine that makes peak power in higher RPMs in something built to off road and/or mall crawl. The current engines available for the Bronco make better torque where these things need it.
Also appropriate, as the addition of two moaroorer doors is so limiting that the bronco is no longer capable of anything exciting.I thought it was boor door
The weight of EcoBoost 2.7 and Coyote 5.0 is the same ā around 440 lbs. The low end torque of the Coyote can be improved by readily available aftermarket goodies and a tune. Whereas there's no way to make the EcoBoost sound as sweet and emotional as a V8.Ford didn't do it because it doesn't make sense to put in a heavier engine that makes peak power in higher RPMs in something built to off road and/or mall crawl. The current engines available for the Bronco make better torque where these things need it.
