5.0 Coyote V8 engine swap kit for Bronco 6th gen now available

the fact that the 5.0 swap is maintaining all normal goat mode and other powertrain functions, i assume they are re-using the transmission, so the AMW prices wouldn't be quite apples to apples since they include a transmission......but who knows.

I'm pretty sure they swapped the 10R60 for the 10R80 in this conversion.

10R60 won’t bolt up to a coyote, unless they used some type of custom adapter plate.

Thats the whole point, now we have two NA options that dont require all that turbo crap (KISS).

LOL, if this was "simple," it would have been done years ago. Just because engines have a turbo doesn't suddenly make them go from simple to complicated. Turbo is over 100 years old and it's not complicated.

I'd say we're in the $100,000 range for a Bronco with a V8 swap. And if I was to spend that kind of money, I'd just go 7.3L.

But then again, I'm not the target market for a project like this. I'd be much more inclined to swap in a 3.0L EcoBoost from a BRaptor just to reduce cost/complexity. That would be a fun project.

They’re both pretty much controlled identically. So from a programming aspect, swapping from a 60 to an 80 would probably be very easy

I had plans to do a 3.0 short block, but keeping the 2.7 heads for the dual injection. Would’ve been a really cool build. But I decided to buy a corvette instead lol

curious to why you think that since that is tied to the ABS system on the canbus.

Because every engine swap I've seen loses ESC.
ABS may be tied to ESC but only controls the brakes, it doesn't throttle down the engine or cuts timing like ESC and TC do.

im not sure if any auto manufactures will really be able to do anything like "put a v8 in a bronco" in that time frame though, if im not mistaken they would need to run new crash tests with the v8 along with all the redesigning to put the v8 in which will likely take longer then it should when you have a team of engineers poking at the design. i could be way off, i just think its a stretch to think that the bill will affect things as we hope it would in the time frame it has before it inevitably gets reversed. happy to be wrong though for sure, i think emissions standards have become way to crazy.
