Male and married.... Tell them to take an oil pan of another 2.3 ... I'm sure they have some there. Good luck.

Did you speak to the Service Manager or just someone in the Service Department? Elevate the issue to the next level and see if you get a different result because they might not be aware of the run around you may be receiving.

Big Bend 2 door owner 2023. Under 10k miles. Had my 1st oil change at a Ford dealer ... 2 days after picking it up i noticed a large puddle of oil on the driveway. 1st day did not notice it due to heavy rain we had. Took it in Dec 17th to learn the oil pan had a crack rt near the drain plug. It is February 10th and zero update on when the repair will be completed. What rights do I have ? Female and frustrated because when i ask questions i get IDK as a answer...Any one else have this happen? To be honest i am over it!! I have been told by a neighbor that the engine mounts need to be undone to fix it and it is a big job. I rather just get rid of it at this point. Appreciate any thoughts or advice.

Currently 24 oil pans in stock in Detroit. Know idea when they got them , but your dealership should have one in a day or 2 if they were on b/o before now.
Overdue for some pressure to be applied.

@Jackiecoop8 , as everyone has said it is a 93.356% certainity (probably higher) that the dealer caused this crack/leak by overtightening the drain plug when they did your oil change.

Unfortunately your just going to have to insist they repair the damage they caused. This will be a confrontation, and they probably will deny liability at first. Take a fried if it helps, but do not take no for an answer.
Thank...the dealer is repairing it and I do have a loaner. The 2 month wait and when I call I get no information... today when I called I was told that they only have 2 qualified mechanics that can repair it... last week was a gasket ... it's just always a different excuse... I appreciate your reply..ty .

It is now March practically and it is still sitting in the same spot since Dec17th. I stopped in and was told I will.get call the intake people had no update and the manager was unavailable of course. No one every called😡

By it sitting without oil could that cause greater damage?

This sucks, no money to be made for them so the priority to get to you is zero it sounds like.
On the bright side, you can enjoy the loaner Bronco and not put the miles on yours.

You need to go scorched earth on their asses at this point. This is unacceptable. Get a lawyer involved if you have to. If you aren't comfortable with confrontation you need to find someone who will aggressively advocate on your behalf.

No. Damage is not covered by warranty. This is on the dealership that caused it, not Ford.
dealer should warranty that as part of their labor warranty. Clearly caused by over torquing the plug. I'm sure its not the dealers first time doing this either.

It has nothing to do with warranty, the dealership will just have to pay for it out of their own pocket.
Warranty implies Ford is paying for it, that's the only warranty the vehicle has.
Ford doesn't pay for damages caused by the dealer.

They could (should) have insurance; D&O is what we had in our old job that covered mistakes that we made (I was neither a director nor officer). 6 and 1/2 dozen, since insurance is an offset and the dealer is paying either way. Again, either way it shouldn't matter to the customer.

I suspect management may not know, if they're never available maybe the person you're speaking with is attempting to cover it up. I'd go to the ownership, and leverage ratings and whatnot.

Yeah I'm sure they have insurance. But in situations like this they'll end up just eating the cost of the part and labor. It'll just be a loss for the service dept.
