Any news on the floppy window engineering fix?

My subaru had frameless windows. Never had any problem with them rattling over bumps.

Our 2016 BMW is frameless, and the windows are solid as a rock.

My ‘23 is in for an oil change right now, and my driver window rattles horribly as well, so I asked to have them address it. Got the same answer being discussed here. It’s a known issue, but Ford hasn’t released anything yet for the fix.

UPDATE: The service tech gave me the following official write up from Ford that also refers to Q3 2025 for a fix from Ford Engineering…

Thanks for the update on this! Another year of not cracking the windows open! LOL. All the way up or down. I have a '21 Badlands. Is this an issue with all years or just earlier ones, say '21 and '22?

My driver side window wobbles horribly, took it in earlier in the year. Dealer acknowledged issue but stated they per Ford guidance they will not do anything about it because there is an engineerig fix coming in Q4. Anyone heard anything about the timing of this?

I absolutely hate that. There are lots of times I want the fronts down a bit on the highway and I am afraid it will flex enough to break.

I didn't know it would be that easy, should have did it a while ago. Didn't drive it yet but slamming the door sounded a lot better.

Good post. Will be doing this tonight. I'll bet it helps with the occasional water I get in when hard rain hits just right.

I've assumed it's the result of an engineering trad-off. The window frames are removed, making the door smaller and lighter for easy door removal. The trade off? Glass that lacks a window track to guide and support it when the window is up. How bad do customers want removable doors?

Personally, I don't plan to remove my doors, but the design imperfection is a quirk of the vehicle to me. If I do want them off . . . The FIX: offer an option with framed doors, perhaps making that standard on OBX. Offer doors with frames for the glass for the door loving crowd. One more feature to swap, buy as take-offs, trade for bumpers or fenders, etc!

My last service at Ford last week, they said Q3 of 2025 should be replaced as recall/warrenty

It’s a frameless window. They all wobble.

I've had plenty of frameless window cars. Not a single one of them has wobbled. They all had a slight curve though.

This is GREAT -- thank you so much. I have a 2022 Bronco Badlands 2-door. I have had the window rattle since day one (on both doors). I will make this simple adjustment when it's not frigid outside. Related question ... just recently (at 26K miles / 34 months), the passenger side window developed a whistling noise when driving above 45mph. Do you think this adjustment will also help with that issue? (seems like it would).

in the design.....and yet after all the mules, protypes and miles driven during testing before production started no one at Ford thought this might be an issue. That is really hard to get my brain around.

It’s a frameless window. They all wobble.

I have been in many frameless window cars including ones currently made by Ford. They don't do this.... Or rather, if they do, it is done in a way that there is no banging or slapping of glass.

It got to the point in my last Bronco going over a bump would move the window so far out that I would have to roll the window down and back up again to re seat it in the weather stripping. I am hopeful that the 25's have something better internally in the door to deal with this. Till addressed, it is just bad engineering.

Not me but that sounds like the screw tightening will fix it. It resolved my rattle... for now
