This is GREAT -- thank you so much. I have a 2022 Bronco Badlands 2-door. I have had the window rattle since day one (on both doors). I will make this simple adjustment when it's not frigid outside. Related question ... just recently (at 26K miles / 34 months), the passenger side window...
I have no official answer from Ford on how to permanently fix the issue other than replace the entire hard top (insane!). So, I found a collision repair shop that works with Fusor adhesive products. They reattached the bracket to the hard top using Fusor adhevises. The strut has been...
FYI -- I've gotten word from another source that, since the hard top is made from thermoplastic, normal epoxie may not adhere. Do you have first hand experience using J-B Weld on the Bronco hard top? I'm planning to do a test, but wanted to see if you've actually done a repair on the hard top...
I think you are exactly right. It appears the discs were glued to the hard top. You can see some residue on the discs as well as hard top material. Maybe this pic will show it better. I am leaning toward your fix recommendation. It seems to be most in line with what there to begin with. It...
Great reply and good ideas here. I appreciate it. I talked to a local glass installer and he said it's a bad idea to use just one one of the hydraulic arms because it would twist / torque the glass potentially causing a break. For now, I'm just holding it up manually to I get my fix in place.
Yes. You're right. The indication I got from the Ford dealer I spoke with was to replace the entire hard top, plus side windows, and rear window. Probably $4K-$5K, which seems INSANE to me. If the J-B Weld or similar super strong adhesive works, why in the HELL would you submit a $5K claim...
Notice the three circular discs on the bracket. I believe those are the anchors originally attached / anchored to the hard top. The bolts then go through the bracket and fasten into the circular anchors (e.g., serves as a nut + an anchor point). The bracket, anchors, and bolts all yanked at...
Yes. That is already done and in flight. The issue is finding the best / right way to repair it and then who can do it? The Ford Dealer I called to discuss it with was ZERO help. Next step, find a collision place to repair, but who the hell knows what they're doing with this new vehicle and...
Thanks for the nice detailed reply! FYI, it didn't just fall off; the hard top dropped from about 2 feet off the ground onto the garage floor and busted out the entire rear window. That's when the bracket got torn out. With that context, do you still think the dealer might warrant it as a...
UPDATE: I have no official answer from Ford on how to permanently fix the issue other than replace the entire hard top (insane!). So, I found a collision repair shop that works with Fusor adhesive products. They reattached the bracket to the hard top using a Fusor adhesive. The strut has been...
Thank you for your input. This seems like it could be a reasonable lever to get the dealer to have a conversation. Follow-up questions: Can you confirm that the order is MY order to cancel, correct? The dealer cannot take my order and use it for their own purpose? If the dealer, won't...
I have an email from Ford stating that the Bronco is scheduled to be built the week of January 3, 2022, but not yet built. My dealer is stating that he wants a $10K ADM (no hint of negotiating). I would love to move my order to a dealer with some sense of integrity, but I thought it was too...
Agree. After MUCH back-and-forth with my dealer, I finally was able to convince them that the order had not been submitted. I even had to send them screen shots from another dealer on how to submit the order. It frustrates the hell out of me that Ford will not intervene when one of their...
