Just listened to a vid claiming both a hybrid and a V8 coming. Anyone else hear other rumors? Also V8 is called a Predator engine. Anyone know anything about that engine?

Highly unlikely
The Predator is the GT500 engine.
Can you imagine the amount of popcorn required if this was true as all the existing folks who bought into the BRaptor platform lost their collective minds? :D :D :D

Pretty sure that’s never going in a Bronco. We could dream though. That’s the motor in the Raptor R F150, besides the GT500.

As a Raptor owner…put the supercharged V8 in the Braptor. It would be awesome to see. I wouldn’t buy it if it were available nor will I think my car lost any value. You don’t buy cars to flip them. And if I live long enough for my ‘22 Raptor to become a collectible, it will still be beautiful as is just like a ‘67 GT500. An original Shelby isn’t as fast as a ‘22.

Also, how much would it cost and who could afford it? The F-150 Raptor-R’s were going for $150,000. A ‘24 Bronco Raptor at a nearby dealership is $120,000. Do you knhow many Shelby owners sale their cars after they experience the maintenance costs of keeping that engine up? $250-$300 oil changes alone set the tone.

Plus, the gas would be less than 10 mpg. A Shelby averages 12 and a Bronco is not near as aerodynamic. I think, while cool and the sound would be fantastic, the market would be so small in reality. At $150,000 I will probably want a super car before a Bronco Raptor.

10mpg gives it a 200 mile range. Ya, no thanks.

Predator motor is too large/wide to fit - the heads are large given the dual overhead cams.

As a fellow Braptor owner, I agree with all your observations, they are spot on. My ‘23 is a keeper and I don’t plan on ever selling it. Its intrinsic value to me transcends whatever will come down the line in the Braptor/bronco family including V-8 engines. I think it is conceivable that a R model Braptor could materialize with maybe a 3.5 hybrid for maximum power and range options. Quite frankly, I feel extraordinarily lucky that Ford brought back this iconic vehicle and that the Braptor owes its existence and purpose to the Baja 500/1000 of yesteryear in its forebear, the Big Oly and Ford’s off road racing lineage.

We had a Shelby GT500 for a year and sold it, the maintenance was very expensive, we had GT350's prior to that and they were way cheaper to maintain, but we sold all of them, so no more worries about those beautiful machines.

I wouldn't mind a hybrid in my next Bronco in a few years. My dad's new Maverick hybrid gets 37 MPG.

There are 2 active R&D swaps going on using the 7.3, but I think you will end up seeing it as a FP kit.

I'm sure a v8 powered bronco would top 200k after dealer adm, who knows maybe the 150 R will drop in price then, I'll snap one of those up.
