UPDATE: After reading through the replies here, and more closely examining the bracket, I can only assume it was my use of Loctite that was the main cause of the issue. I know someone mentioned it wouldn't have degraded the plastic that quickly, but I don't know what else could be to blame unless it was a faulty bracket. I am extremely confident I didn't overtighten the screws as I was being over cautious to not do so. The four mounting points didn't just seem to crack, they seemed to almost crumble apart.
----------------------------------

I wanted to share my experience with the Wolfbox G900 TriPro in case anyone is on the fence about buying one. As much as I wanted to like it, I will be returning mine.

While installing, the mirror broke clean off the OEM bracket and came off in my hand. I’ve attached photos showing how it failed. I was already concerned with how cheap the bracket felt (it is mostly plastic), so I was very careful, holding the screwdriver only between my thumb and index finger to avoid over tightening. Even with that caution, it snapped before I could finish attaching it to the windshield.

It happened when I went to adjust the mirror angle to get a better line on the screw. All four attachment points gave way at once. I honestly sat there for ten or fifteen seconds trying to figure out how it could have happened before it sank in that the bracket had completely failed.

I’ve emailed Wolfbox to start the return process, but I wanted to post here to share my experience.

Wolfbox has excellent customer service and you can be confident they will make things right if there is a defect in their product. I say this based on personal experience along with what others have said.

I can’t really figure out how it could have broken like that. You used loctite? I suspect you used a product not compatible with plastic and that caused the failure.

From Google. “Is loctite compatible with plastic?”
No, not all Loctite products are compatible with plastic; it depends on the type of Loctite and the specific plastic. Some anaerobic thread lockerscan chemically damage and cause stress cracking in certain plastics like polycarbonate and ABS.

I can tell you I have had my bracket on and off about two dozen times diagnosing a vibration issue and I never had any problems with those four screws.

Talk to Wolfbox, you just need a new bracket assuming you can still get the screws out

Mine went in very easily. Assembled the whole thing on the kitchen table and then attached it to the car. Can't understand what happened.

This is what mine looks like after 5 months of use. No problems. I found that it does vibrate a little when going completely topless at higher speeds because of the wind. But not enough to be a problem.

Tend to agree with the posters above:

It would take a lot for a screw like that to come loose due to vibration I would think. No need to over-engineer it.

Why are the screws all surrounded with super glue? The bracket looks like it was damaged by a chemical reaction to whatever you put on it.

Mine installed easily on the workbench and is tight with no stress on the bracket.

So the “warning“ is don’t use loctite on the Wolfbox bracket and/or don’t overtighten the screws. Got it.

I've had my wolfbox (not the tripro, but the 2 channel model) installed with the same bracket for about a year and a half now with no issues.

Wolfbox replaced my mirror once, so i had to unscrew and re-screw the bracket once as well and haven't had any issues. I dont recall if i used locktite.

My last job I worked for Henkel - makers of Loctite. My current job I work for makes gorilla glue and vibratite (competitor to loctite). Thread locker and sealant is a pretty diverse product group and we have customers use it wrong all the time. However, no way blue loctite penetrated and degraded the plastic that fast. Assuming you put it on, threaded the screws and then mounted it. I will say, much easier to put the arm on the mirror bracket then put the whole assembly on the glass mount.

With that said, that OEM bracket they sell is a piece of shit. too flimsy and allows the vibration. They will replace that thing tho for you, customer service is great. I had a camera fritz out and they sent a replacement quickly.

Mine has been great so far. No issues or noise. Is it possible you overtightened it?

Can the OEM bracket be 3D printed to make a stronger one? or can someone make that piece that is plastic out of aluminum? Seems there is something that can be done to make this stronger.

I suggested this much to wolfbox, we'll see if they move on it. I got the vibration to stop on mine, but perhaps when bored this winter i might make one out of aluminum. would be quite easy

I will attempt to make something right away out of aluminum purchased from Home Depot. I will trace an outline from the oem piece and cut it out. My Tripro arrives today in the mail. So when I get home from work I will get on that.
