Thanks for posting these! Any chance you could show a photo of the washers you used as spacers? It's hard to tell exactly how you modified them in the photo of them installed. If it's too much work to disassemble it again, no worries. Thanks again!

honestly, something like this would be better to make the spacers out of. I was just in a hurry to get this done yesterday. Note the dimensions (in mm) in the photos below. I went with a thickness of 1/4" .

I wonder if 3d printing some spacers would work. I have a 3d printer, and I may try messing around with some options when I have a chance. Do they simply need to be rectangular in shape, or are there other cutouts needed to fit?

There are cutouts. If I were you I would take the screen off your vehicle and look at the space. It is somewhat hard to explain what the cutouts would be needed. With that said the spacer can be made a little smaller in length and should work.

Do you think it would be possible to use your custom plate without any spacers? I was searching online to see if there were any other individuals/companies that tried to upgrade the mounting plate, and I came across the product linked below. From the photos, it looks like they don't have any spacers.

Well the short answer is yes, you can go without spacers but I do not think it is a good idea. The reason why is in the bottom of that hole where the spacers go, there is a brass insert in the plastic. If you start cranking down that plate without an insert, I worry with a tight enough screw you may pull out the brass Insert. So in my mind, the spacer supports the brass insert so no matter how tight you get that screw it’s being supported and will not pull out of the plastic. I considered doing the same thing by not using a spacer, but then decided against it.

Regarding that 67 designs mount, I cannot imagine their mount would have any less vibration then the oem mount because the plate on their mount says it's made out of plastic. Putting a 20mm ball on the mount is a brilliant idea. You could mount the whole wolfbox display somewhere else and still use the stock Bronco rear view mirror.

I could very easily modify the plate I made and add a 20mm ball mount. Thanks for the link@

The only reason I think the 67 Designs mount might have less vibration is because I could see the nylon they use to be a more solid piece than the plastic that Wolfbox uses for their mount. I'm contemplating ordering it and the other parts needed to attach a ball mount like that to the rearview mirror mount. It would cost about $100, though, so I'm not sure it's worth it.

There haven’t been any posts here in a while, I wonder if there have been any updates. I just installed my Wolfbox this weekend am noticing the same vibration in the mirror itself. It vibrates even when sitting at a stop light just from engine vibration.

Has anyone else found good solutions?

@WolfBox, you make a great product, but this is the weak spot IMHO.

I installed mine a couple weeks ago and just put some padding behind the plate and screwed it down tight, no vibration. Make sure you have the mount on the windshield nice and tight too.

Dear sir, you can put one rubber strap, which included in the package, between the plate and dash cam back. In this way, you can reduces vibration without compromising heat dissipation. Also, please make sure the connections are tightly secured.

I'm moments away from pulling the trigger, but did this get solved? Not terribly handy and worried about long term implications given the heat sink right there...
