I took my '23 2dr badlands in Monday to finally have the top replaced. I haven't really been in any hurry since I've heard several have gone through multiple replacements. Was hoping after 3 years Ford would have this shit figured out by now. Picked it up yesterday and was focused on the headliner they did not put in but when finally pulled it outside this top if FAR WORSE than the one I had. The whole thing is honeycombed and wavy. I have pics but they are on my home PC. Looks terrible :(
They promptly ordered a new top, but time is money and I could have not wasted 2 of my off days driving back and forth for nothing.
Ford has a real mess on its hands. Just wait until the post-warranty complaints start piling up. They're going to have to do something or face a class action.

It's asinine that Ford offers a bumper to bumper extended warranty but doesn't include the MIC top.
It covers a lot of things, but it’s not bumper to bumper.

True.

And imagine 5+ years down the road, when these tops are well out of warranty and most (if not all) are showing the effects of time and weather. Aftermarket top manufacturers will have a gold mine, and Ford is really going to look bad.

I love my Bronco and my only concern is the MIC. I plan to keep my Bronco for several decades. It will be out of warranty in June 2025 and I have zero confidence the MIC will hold up. I like the Anderson hard top but they have no plans to make one for a 2 door. It is obvious that FORD has NOT fixed the MIC issue. We have all read the numerous reports of replacement tops looking like crap or also failing. FORD SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE TOP FOR LIFETIME OF OWNERSHIP FOR ORIGINAL PURCHASERS. If they do not fix this and stand by current owners....I am sure there will be a class action suit. But, results would probably be; lawyers get millions and we get a $100.00 voucher on the Ford web site.

I just looked at the Anderson top. Prices seem to be all over the place, from high 4's to high 9's. Still...not something y'all should have to shell out for. Nuts.

'24 Bronco here. Purchase in March. Checked my top yesterday 12/03/2024 and confirmed that there are visible waves on the removable panels and a crack at the panel just under the side rear glass. I also posted on the other new thread. I have 18k miles on my truck amd will more than likely wait it out another 10k miles or so before bringing it in. Seems a replacement will not solve the issue. My question is, how bad will it get? Will it eventually completely delaminate and fail? @Ford what's up??

My Bronco's born on date is early June 2024; bought in October (just over two months ago). Cracks on both sides similar to yours appeared over the last several days with the arrival of a cold snap.

Brought it to the nearby Ford dealership (that sold me the 6G) this a.m. to start the warranty process. This was the dealership's first MIC hardtop problem. Told them to expect many more....

...face a class action.

I think I know one company that won't be making them. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: They tried once and failed. Miserably.

Yup. I think I posted "pending class action". Probably right here prior.

When you say cold snap, could you quantify that? Are we talking below freezing? I ask as a cold snap in South Central Texas is 70 degrees. :whew:

To me a cold snap is a couple of days below 40. I live in PA. Once that happens it is time to turn off the outside spigots and get ready for the snow to fly.

It really sucks to think that a replacement may just end up having the exact same issues. I would request that the dealership allow me to personally examine the replacement once it arrives, before installing.

Count me in for cracks around the window. I just noticed a crack near the front of the passenger side window a couple days ago.

Hi there, Zeaks. This window crack concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Bronco. Should you need further assistance, please send us a DM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer and I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end. To send a direct message, just click on our username and select "Send Direct Message".

You are correct about Bronco people experiencing this. Problem it is just about EVERY FREAKING ONE!!!!!! Not just this one.

Have you made any improvements because most of the 24s I see still do it. :censored:

This is a sore subject for me.
