Hey everybody,

I have a '23 Badlands Sasquatch 2.7 L automatic with interesting torque steer issues. I owned the Bronco for nearly two years before any mods, and I live in Idaho, so I've driven the vehicle through two snowy/cold seasons.

Last year I did full coilover suspension upgrades which added about 3.5" of suspension lift, plus I installed new beadlock wheels and 37" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss M/T tires. I did the Ford Performance ProCal tuner and added the Fast Intentions cat back exhaust system (mostly for improved muffler clearance).

I never noticed much torque steer before in 4A or 4H (pre modification), but this year it's very noticeable even when accelerating slowly. I did a full alignment after off road season in 2025 and haven't done any significant wheeling since. Drives perfectly straight in 4A or 4H once I've gotten to speed. Driving in eco mode helps a little, as anticipated.

I accelerate very casually. I didn't anticipate the ProCal tuner would have created that much torque steer alone. Supposedly the Fast Intentions cat back adds more HP and torque as well. Anyone having similar torque steer issues after similar mods?

The tune by itself did not add enough torque where you would not feal it all before, and feel it strongly after.

Might want to go over your suspension since the mods. Last year I had a shop replace the (ridiculously expensive) electronic shocks (front only) on our 2016 Sequoia. Front end was squirrely, particularly on acceleration (not wanting to track straight), after the work so I had the shop double check the alignment they did, they said it was fine. I put it on the back burner for a few weeks until my wife told me it was getting real bad, drove it and yea so I took I again took it back to the shop. They admitted they had left a LCA bolt loose by accident :p

Not sure that was really it because I had checked bolts myself, but even if the alignment or something else was done incorrectly they fixed it.

I just keep it out of 4a unless its raining and I need traction

I have torque steer when in 4WD while turning with my Ranger but not when I am going straight. I have Torsen differentials front and rear and that is the biggest contributor to the torque steer. Before I installed the Torsen differential in the front, it was not as noticeable. My Ranger wants to center steering straight with the front Torsen differential in or out of 4WD.

I have not use my Bronco much in 4WD yet, but I have not experienced any torque steer in AWD. I have used AWD a lot.

I know front wheel drive vehicles typically have torque steer but with the help of the rear axle pushing, torque steer should be minimal or non-existent in AWD or 4WD with open differentials.

After installing the Pulsar XT tune I get pretty bad torque steer in low gears and 4A, but only when I push it. That's with a lift, 37s, and a relocated track bar. It's pretty tame under modest throttle.

Yeah my 2dr 2.7 will go where it wants to go if I'm turning and getting on it hard in 4Auto, lol.
