I had a few questions if anybody might know the answers about the Ford Procal tuner for the 2.7 (M-9603-B27).
If you buy one new secondhand that is not VIN locked, is it still possible to set up the account with Ford to download your stock tune (I think this is a necessary part of the install)? Or do you need some specific information with the purchase to set up the FPP account or does it just want the serial number of the unit? Found this answer, you need the voucher with the unit that has not been activated.
If you buy one secondhand that is VIN locked, is it possible to have Ford unlock it for $$$ and how much would that cost? And is the performance tune still on the unit or does that need to be downloaded again?
Can the tune by itself be purchased from Ford Performance to be installed in the vehicle and how much does that usually cost? According to the FPP website you have to purchase the tune with the Procal so it doesn't sound like you can purchase the tune separately. I will followup with FPP next week to verify.
Does the tune get rid of the torque management and allow for boost in 1st gear with the automatic?
I may add more questions as I think of them but I wanted to start a post for these answers if anyone knows.
