Hey gang I'm looking to improve the ride of my 24' 2 door big bend. The stock suspension is god awful on the trails. I have searched the threads and can't seem to find the exact ride i'm looking for. I drive pavement from November to April. But then the rest of the year it is a trail rider, ruts, roots, and rocks. I have never had a vehicle bounce me around so much, my bad back is hoping you can help me out. What I would like is a really good "SOFT" ride. I'm sure I can't match the 2 seat utv with the fox suspension but anything close would be a huge improvement. I plan on getting new tires for the snow and ice but no lift. The height for my driving is fine. Thanks in advance!!

Airing down usually solves my trail issues. Other than that, adjustable dampers help if they offer a soft setting. For non-adjustable shocks, I think Rancho's ride softer than Bilsteins.

I came back from the Off-Roadeo with a bruised elbow from bumping it on the armrest for goodness sake. It may be worthwhile to start padding out the interior surfaces.

Icon with CDEV so you can change the suspension damping characteristics whenever you want.

That said coming from 3/4 ton pickups to the Bronco and my previous experience with 4x suv being old jeeps, scouts and gen 1 Broncos I was shocked how soft my stock Badlands was road off road.

Nothing much rides as nice as a well equipped UTV though

what air pressure are you running on road vs trail. In my wildtrak I run 34 road, 20-25 trail.

@ScLeCo Thanks for tagging us and I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your Ride Shocks!

@PJ Bennett If you’re looking for the softest ride for your Bronco, that’s something we specialize in. Depending on your budget and goals, we’ve got a few Bronco Shocks options to consider.

Although the Bronco is nowhere near a UTV, it’s still pretty capable out of the box. If your budget will allow for it, and if you’re ok with adding lift, then it’s hard to beat the value and performance that Ride Shocks has to offer. We’ve really gone above and beyond to focus on premium ride quality for both street and off-road driving. The DPA adjusters will allow you to make fine tune adjustments depending on your driving style or terrain. Soften them up for street driving Nov-April and stiffen them up for off-road driving. We also offer tuned Fox and King options, but there are other mods we will need to do that can increase the price.

If you’re not interested in adding lift to the Bronco, you’re really not going to have many options that will truly offer the “softest” ride.

Are you dead set on not adding any lift?
Do you have a budget in mind?

@AccuTune Offroad , pardon me but the OP is asking for the softest off road ride. Stiffening up for off road is the opposite of his desire - mine too. Maybe Shock Warehouse would be a better service provider.

This was just an example of what the adjusters can do. Typically most will want the softest setting on street for daily driving use, and make them more firm off-road to handle the bigger bumps. Ride quality is subjective to everyone's preference, and the adjusters will allow each person to make those decisions and adjust accordingly. If the OP prefers the opposite, great no problem.

We're also happy to revalve the shocks FREE. Even if 3 years from now you add 900 LB of constant weight. Not many other companies can offer that type of service to ensure the customer gets the best ride possible.

I would second and third going as low in psi when you're off road as you can, and perhaps a C-load tire if you can as well (unless you need the sidewall).

The Bilstein 8112's are said to be pretty smooth, especially off road at higher speeds, but are $$$$.

I got Eibach Pro Truck coilovers and it really softened up the ride in a way I like, at least relative to Badlands/Sasquatch Bilsteins.
Not sure how they compare to Hitachis.

I second this. put the pro truck 2s on and the ride is much softer, on and off road.

I considered these my bridge coilovers until throw more money at a build in a couple years. However, I am quite happy with them.

Adding the e-disconnect sway bar helped make the ride smoother on my rural uneven dirt/rock road.
