Seems like if it is the third time you've had this exact failure, they never actually fixed it the first two times. I'd make a big stink with Ford and point to the two unsuccessful fixes. This is on them.

I’ve had something similar on my ranger, but it was ice on sensor, after it thawed or was wiped away, problem went away, couldn’t be that easy could it?

Possibly, I thought of that and whipped off everything on the back of the car. Sensors, camera, tail lights, window and door. Also I thought they were all related to the ones in the bumper but I honestly don't know.

I hope it is something that simple but since I have had the issue before I am not holding my breath.

Granted the first time I had ALL driver aids go out and then the radio and then the dash etc. The second it was only the passenger side, same as this time, with the same on and off warnings I am currently getting. Maybe all they did was clean the sensors and then billed big... medium... blue in Detroit for a warranty fix.

No they are not. We should all be thankful that they aren't. On the Ranger, the BLIS sensor is embedded in the taillight making a very expensive part to replace.

The actual sensor is behind the body molding right below the taillight. That area despite being shrouded actually gets a lot of road spray, dirt/debris from the rear wheels. It is my supposition that it is one of the primary reasons that the Oracle Flush Tails fail as the resistor when mounted by their directions is much too low and susceptible to that road spray. If one lives up north with the brined road surfaces, there will be a high concentration of that salty road spray behind the body panel where the BLIS sensor is.

To the OP, you might want to try flushing the area with fresh water. If you can't angle a hose up there, then you'll have to remove the trim around the tailgate and the corresponding body panels (Follow the Oracle Flush Tails install instructions on step-by-step directions). Worth cleaning and checking the connections before taking to the dealer.

Thanks, that is way more info that I had any idea about. I would agree with you as this happens this time of year. I will try exactly that. Again great info and thanks!

Don't be dismayed by the process to get back there. If/when you take off the body trim, you'll be surprised how much crap gets slung up there from the tires. When you normally wash the truck, make it a habit to spray/flush up there.
