I think as long as you are not rock crawling or subjecting the Bronco to anything that could fly up and hit the pan really hard you are good without skids.
I doubled down and installed RCI aluminum skids on mine because the engine oil pan is also plastic. I had a heavily modified Wrangler that I kicked to the curb for the Bronco that we did all manner of offroad activity and had MetalCloak steel skids on it.
I opted to not make the Bronco heavier than necessary and steel skids would definitely tip the scales the wrong way.
