Pin stripes / trail stripes - who really cares?

Pin stripes from exploring - removal can wait or must be immediately taken care of?

  • I need to remove them immediately before someone sees them!

  • It’s a badge of honor, I’ll keep them.

  • You can’t get pin stripes if you only go to Starbucks.

  • It can wait!

  • I'd rather not, but it's going to happen.

  • I'm cautious enough to not get any.

After doing a little bit of exploring yesterday, I started to notice that the pinstripes in the paint are starting to add up. But I didn’t really care. It’s likely something that I will worry about next year, maybe.

Does anyone else share the sentiment that pinstripe removal from branches/brush falls close to the bottom of things to do with their Bronco?
Your poll seems biased toward answers from people who either want them, don't care, or don't off-road. Put me in the, "no pinstripes" category, but I off-road. I bring along loppers and am not adverse to chopping back branches to keep from damaging my beloved Bronco. The next people who come down that trail can thank me.

The 'pinstripes' on the soft top windows are a little more painful. The ones in the paint will usually come out with an electric buffer.

I’ve got some deep ones on the doors. Wish I had put PPF on them. While I’d like to try and buff them out, I just have too many other things I’d rather do that are more fun, so, maybe someday!

I make it a habit to move or cut at least two branches across any trail I go down. Everybody does that and the trail stays clear.

There should be a poll option:

"What are trail stripes, I have PPF"

I choked on my coffee when I saw this, haha. Got a backstory?
Hunting trip in southern New Mexico. I have a bum knee so I was trying to drive in as far as possible to minimize my hiking, and the trails that deep were definitely SxS width. I thought I had enough room but didn't account for an obstacle on the left that leaned me over into the trees. Once I was in it I figured "eff it" and just kept going haha.

It mostly buffed out and you have to look closely to see it now. If it's dirty you can't tell at all.

I bought Cactus Grey. It's not metallic, so easy for a body shop to match. Doesn't show AZ dust. And is less likely to show pin/trail stripes.

As far as the poll goes, need another option, "none of the above."

Apparently my weather app is following this thread...

I had a kid run a 4-way stop and of course its their word against mine. Body shop quoted $965.00 to repair/paint plus a new lower light module ($1,295.00) on my Escalade. 15 minutes with a buffer and you cannot see any damage even up close.

One more upgrade

I have found that if I turn my radio up before the pin striping occurs and I can't hear it, then it's like it never happened. I also try to make sure the stripes are on the passenger side if possible, so I don't have to see them.

Not worried about them. It happens.

I'm showing this to my wife. I keep telling her, she doesn't know how good she has it. Work hard, play hard 🤙
