Oil viscosity ratio

Have 2 Fords requiring 5w-30 and one requiring 5w-20 at 6 quarts. Hate buying that $14 extra quart. The Maverick uses 5w-30 at about 5 2/3 of a quart and Bronco uses 5w30 at 5 quarts so I keep an extra 5 quart jug around for top offs. Thoughts on 1 quart of 5w30 as the 6th quart on oil changes for the Sport that uses 6 quarts of 5w-20.

Being in Florida I wouldn't be concerned adding a quart of 5w-30.

5W30 or 40 100% synthetic derived from natural gas for turbo health. The 40W is only relevant when into extreme temp that degrades viscosity ..it maintains heathy viscosity ....doubt you will ever see it except turbo internals that are brutalized with extreme heat.

Just use 5-30 full synthetic in everything. At one point my fleet required three, or 4 if you count the 1947 tractor, oil types, I have now transitioned to all 5-30 syn. I always buy 5 quarters and pour the odd qt out of one.

I would not mix viscosity.

Am I reading that correctly? Your Bronco takes 5 quarts? Mine takes 6. Thought all Broncos took 6 quarts?

If you are changing oil early - I don't think you'll see any issues at all

I have a half-full 5qt bottle that I thought about using, but when I go to buy oil, it's always a 5qt and a one-off 1qt, just to make it easy...

Get what you pay for (but the question is how long does that ultra cheap additive package last) except in the case of Costco "organic" chicken which is loaded with free steroids delivering "natural" and material breast enhancement - no joke a GFs friend stopped eating it and saw a massive reduction. Probably works on guys too LOL just in case mising chest days haha.

Yeah - when new. Consumer grade motor oil base stocks are all more or less the same with Natural Gas Derived synthetic and hydrocracked dino and dino syntheric the only differentiators its the additive packages that make a world of difference and critical for turbos.
