mud has cohesive strength whereas ordinary soil or “dirt” does not. To the tune of >10 psi. Get your 37+ tires embedded many inches into that stuff and you can easily add hundreds of pounds of resisting force to the wheels. I think maybe there is enough scientific evidence to prove it is the debil. 😂
Damn good point....My 41x14.50r17 IROKs Caked with sticky mud must weigh 300lbs 🤪

Fair points entirely and I’m hung up between wanting to mod the Bronco for both appearance (love the wide stance) and for wheeling/off-roading. I love the stance of the raptor but since I want to customize my Bronco for my specific taste, I couldn’t afford to drop the money into the raptor just to change it.
With that said, since I don’t live near the desert, the best chance of something equivalent would be hitting the outer banks with it a few times a year.

While I like the looks of the lift with a wider fender flare, I also feel it starts to feel like it mimic the look of a wrangler (even though it doesn’t look like one, the fender flares always make my brain go that route). While I have always liked wranglers looks wise, I got the Bronco bc of its different look from the Wranglers.

With that said, I love the wide fender look of the 8” ADV fenders (not trying to go that route necessarily, but that the style I prefer). While I’d prefer to not spend the $20-30k, I also have a history of not doing anything with my cars and regretting later. Since I would like to hit beaches and northeast trails and such, do you still think it’s just overkill? I am getting my hands on a brand new bajakit LT setup at 25-30% with free shipping, so I’m eager to make the move soonest before that deal slides, unless people think there is a way for me to get the wide look without the LT kit.
Yes, it's overkill (with respect to the capability).

I had more capability than I was using with the 33.5" tire and Badlands non-Sasquatch suspension. I contemplated 37's but I am actually happy with the 34.4" (315/70R17 BFG KO2's) tires and Eibach's that I am currently running.

While I'm a relative newbie to off-roading, I think that you would be shocked by what the Bronco is capable of doing with "35's" and a set of Eibach's.

Now if you want that wide look, well, it's going to cost you. If you are going full send on the build, might as well be 37's.

Well. If your primary goal is stance, something like the Baja Kit is a well engineered way to get there. You can do it for a lot less by putting on negative offset wheels or spacers but that only pushes the tire out, and has some negatives to it, as it greatly increases scrub radius, and puts stress on the steering and suspension components. The ADV fenders are good looking, but you might not be able to find them much longer, as the company is in a bit of financial and legal trouble...

I think a separate thread discussing your specific goals might be worthwhile, as you're trying to built something unique, and getting a focused conversation on it is probably a good idea.

That reminds me, there is a less expensive way there with the Ranger Raptor parts if I remember correctly. There's a thread on the parts needed, it's wider, but not quite 3" per side wider. That might be a good 1/2 way point - and a lot cheaper because it uses factory parts.

Somebody point me to this thread because that sounds interesting.

Valhalla actually just messaged me about this as well. Trying to figure out parts and all that would be involved.

Saw this at local off-road shop. Surprised on the amount of plastic inside the rack and the thin walls.
